Some Colorado sheriffs ending immigrant detainers

Colorado sheriffs will no longer honor requests from federal immigration authorities to continue to detain someone once they are eligible to be released on the charges for which they were initially arrested.

The move comes in the wake of recent court decisions in Oregon and Pennsylvania that found that such detainer requests from Immigration and Customs Enforcement are not commands that local jurisdictions have to abide by, and that sheriffs could be liable for constitutional violations for holding people past the time when they would otherwise be released.

Immigrant advocates have argued for years that these so-called ICE holds are merely requests, not commands, and that holding inmates on immigration detainers could constitute due-process violations. …

The three Colorado Sheriffs I saw were not the strong law and order types. Boulder Sheriff is elected and over a bunch of libs. 55 sheriffs still have a lawsuit going against gor. Chickenpooper.

There’s a rumor going around that a new organization has sprung up in America: it’s called Future Election Enablers for Democrats, or FEED.

Only Mexicans living in the United States without credentials are eligible for membership.

While I realize THIS (above) statement is sarcasm,

I would AGAIN like to take a moment to thank the good people of Virginia who stayed home rather than vote or voted for the Liberal sponsored Libertarian and ‘awarded’ us with McAuliffe as Gov and
Herring as AG...
BTW, in a few short months the AG has declared the VA gay marriage ban was unconstitutional and now has declared the ‘dream act’ alive and well in VA, allowing illegals to be eligible for instate tuition....

Looks like all these states are trying to outdo each other for the ‘TAKERS’....

Would be good to see the FED ‘pull the plug’ and tell the states they are responsible for their OWN payouts.....

By the time McAwful & his ‘Band of Liberal Thieves’ is done VA will REALLY resemble MD...

Also, the Special election brought us 2 D’s which in effect gave the Libs control of the VA Senate, again a very low turnout.

Thanks again.
