The US has been behind the Ukrainian crisis from the beginning, but was initially flying low, Russian President Vladimir Putin has said. He added that if sanctions continue, Russia will have to reconsider who has access to key sectors of its economy.
I think what is happening now shows us who really was mastering the process from the beginning. But in the beginning, the United States preferred to remain in the shadow, Putin said, as quoted by RIA Novosti.
Putin stated that since the US has taken a lead role in resolving the political crisis in Ukraine, it is telling that they originally were behind this process, but now they just have emerged as leaders of it.
The "Maidan cookies" policy paves the way to a broader crisis, Putin warned, referring to US officials showing up in central Kiev and encouraging protesters during demonstrations.
It is necessary to understand that the situation is serious and try to find serious approaches to the solution, he said.

How does Putin “own” the media? And our media is the reason Obama is in office. Not much better, if you ask me.
Er, yes, the people who can’t create a website are going to engineer a revolution. (eyes rolloing)
But equating the two is a red herring, unless you intend to excuse the behavior of Russian state-owned media by pointing at its U.S. version.
I said back at the time on here that it wasn't any huge coincidence that a bunch of Americans like "Code Pink" could "go attend the Olympics" near the Ukraine.
Around the time of the Olympics?
That's the extent of your knowledge about what has been going on in Ukraine?
Some of us have been paying attention to what's been going on there for a lot longer than that.
Obama has very little to do with what's going on in Ukraine.
Bingo.
LOL.
I honestly don’t know much about Russian media but I can see with my own eyes what Obama does with our media.
And this is an interesting article. The comments following are interesting as well:

Tell me how much better Obama is than Putin.
“How does Putin own the media? “
I don’t understand your question. Putin simply owns the media. Like you own anything else, all Russian news channels are government channels that answer directly to Putin. All people with influence over what goes on the news are handpicked by the Kremlin. Opposition channels and websites are shut down by force of government. There is no comparison with US, there is plenty of anti-Obama media, cable, radio, and alternative (FR).
So posting KGB Putin propaganda garbage here again.
Putin Today is a KGB run propaganda network.
Are you paid to post this crap for the murderous monster Putin ?
Putin shut down the free Russia media outlets years ago !
He is a KGB sociopath.
Where the hell have you been?
"Autonomous Nonprofit Organization 'TV-Novosti'".Practically screams, "CCCP".
“Putin HIMSELF”
Almighty has spoken. On your knees, slave.
Once again, you are wrong. They are behind the coup. This has their hand prints all over it.
I believe we all want Ukraine to be free. Right now they have no chance at all because aligning with either side will bring them no freedom.
Americans had best keep their eye on the ball here because our freedoms are vanishing daily. The thought police are wanting to scan the internet for “hate speech”. We have much to worry about right here.
Anti-government protesters in Kiev, Ukraine, got a boost from Sen. John McCain today.
The Arizona Republican, who was accompanied by Democratic Sen. Chris Murphy, of Connecticut, said he was at Independence Square to speak on behalf of the American people.
"To all Ukrainians, America stands with you," McCain said, as the crowd roared.
He continued: "People of Ukraine this is your moment. This is about you; no one else. This is about the future you want for your country. This is about the future you deserve. A future in Europe, a future of peace... The free world is with you, America is with you, I am with you," McCain said.
I guess he wanted a second chance after that Libya debacle.
