Obama EPA Chief McCarthy: Pollution Holds African-Americans Back [ How will amnesty reduce Carbon?]

Regina "Gina" McCarthy, President Obama's chief of the Environmental Protection Agency, has essentially called pollution a force of racism in the US, saying that pollution is "holding back millions of African-Americans."

McCarthy made even more strange comments at an April 24 appearance at Clark Atlanta University sponsored by the Hip Hop Caucus, a non-profit group that claims to "mobilize, educate, and engage young people... in elections, policymaking and service projects."

The government needs to eat its own cooking.

If a rule they impose causes energy prices to rise, the increase needs to come out of their own budget.

None of this "jam the tax gun in the peasants' faces" to fund their increased costs.

“Pollution Holds African-Americans Back”

Thanks, but we already knew this.

In fact, due to media vigilance, we know that EVERYTHING holds African-Americans back except their own poor decisions and self-destructive life choices.

Most power plants, incinerators, and garbage dumps are built near where the poor people live. In Washington, DC, the Capitol power plant has been burning coal which pollutes areas where poor people live and have higher than average rates of asthma. The plant has been able to burn natural gas which pollutes a lot less, but recent efforts may have finally succeeded in forcing them to switch from coal.

BS

Poor people have higher incidence of asthma because they spend so much of their childhood breathing climate controlled air.

Most of the poor (a nonsensical term in modern America) keep their children in doors as much as possible in their urban ghettos. Most of the poor have air conditioning so the windows stay shut.

With modern AC equipped with HEPA filters every bit of pollen, air born bacteria, mold spoor, and dust particle is filter out of the atmosphere they breathe. This ultra clean air means that the children from the earliest age are not exposed to contaminants that they would be if they spent a good part of their time outdoors.

So their immune systems not challenged by normal air contaminants from the earliest age their immune systems become ultra-sensitive to what should be normal exposure to typical air contaminants.

Everything is blamed on racism lately. I guess they’ve grown tired of blaming Bush.

Don’t forget the cigarette smoke that many of their parents are breathing in their apartments. Also, don’t forget the walks to and from school, and time on the playground.

Many schools have eliminated playground time. Many teachers do not want to do playground monitoring duty so they have come up with the notion that playground time takes away from preparing for college.

Most urban poor ride to school on Air Conditioned buses.
