Kyiv sacks Luhansk police chief, sends replacement

The acting chief of the Ukrainian presidential administration, Serhiy Pashynsky, has said that the Luhansk regional police chief has been sacked and replaced by a new one.

"Yesterday, at the behest of the interim president, the head of the Luhansk interior directorate was dismissed and replaced by a new one, who has already traveled to his new workplace with a group of officers," he told reporters in Kyiv on Wednesday, without naming the new Luhansk police chief.

"Police in Donetsk and Luhansk regions and towns are undergoing a full rotation, all volunteers ready to defend their country are being mobilized," Pashynsky added.

On Tuesday groups of pro-Russian protestors in Luhansk stormed a number of administrative buildings, including that of the Luhansk regional police. Having failed to storm the building, the attackers sent negotiators to police bosses. During the talks the regional police chief, Volodymyr Huslavsky, wrote a letter of resignation. He was thus trying to persuade protestors not to storm the building, the regional police spokeswoman Tetiana Pohukai said.

On the same day, in his appeal to the nation Ukraine's Acting President Oleksandr Turchynov asked the interior minister, Arsen Avakov, to conduct replacements among senior police officers in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

Several Twitters are noting that they are sending Right Sector people in to take over the local Police.

Somehow, I don't think this is going to help diffuse the situation.

When the police these guys are supposed to take charge of tell the new guys to stuff it it's going to be interesting to see how the Kiev Kiddis spin it. Maybe they're disband the police in Luhansk the way they disband the paratroop brigade.

Right Sector only has about 2000 members nationwide. I think it be a good idea not to report the random twittering of propagandists as fact.

LOL !!.. Right, and here were only three thousand Nazis in all of Germany in the forties, too.

They can put several thousand people in the street wearing neo-Nazi armbands in any town in the country but what, those people don't count because they don't have the official decoder ring or because the propaganda notebook some people are working from says to downplay their numbers?

When you provide evidence for there being a massive secret army of Right Sector people, like the Fremen out of Dune, coming out of caves, you may speak. Until then, you're as vacuous and offensive as you usually are.

Right after you provide evidence there are only two thousand members of "Right Sector" and that means the whole conglomeration of groups that are under their umbrella, not members of a book club named, "Right Sector" somewhere in Greece or some crap.

You pump out one unsubstantiated yarn after another but want others to show you proof of something anyone can find if they dig a little? Typical propagandist behavior.

Right after you provide evidence there are only two thousand members of "Right Sector"

Right Sector itself claims to have 5,000 to 10,000 members, but others estimate 2,000, up from 500 since Russia started its aggression. They're currently polling 1 to 2 percent, as is Svoboda. Right Sector has no members in the Ukrainian Rada.

"Right Sector claims to have at least 5,000 to 10,000 members.[16][17] It first emerged in November 2013 at the Euromaidan protests in Kiev, as an alliance of far-right Ukrainian nationalist groups and the Ukrainian National Assembly – Ukrainian National Self Defence (UNA-UNSO).[18][19]"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Right_Sector

"Taras Berezovets, a political scientist and president of Berta Communications in Kiev, thinks Putin is making too much of fairly small group. Until recently, Right Sector had about 500 members. Today it may be 2,000."

"only 2.5% of respondents say they will vote for Tyagnibok of “Svoboda”; and only 1.6% will for Yarosh of “Pravyy sektor” (Right Sector), the two far-right Ukrainian parties."

The last one, unfortunately, you'll have to use a translator on.

You pump out one unsubstantiated yarn after another but want others to show you proof of something anyone can find if they dig a little? Typical propagandist behavior.

You've never shown me any proof for any of your vile claims, not even once, actually.

Oh, I see. 2000 is now 10000 when someone may actually fact check what you said.

Beyond that, don't bother rephrasing what the ruling clique in Kiev has to say. I can get that trash the Kiev Kiddies propaganda rags just as easily as you do.

Like repeating the canard about the "loyal parachute brigade conducting anti-terrorist operations and avoiding bloodshed by temporarily flying a separatist flag". You're just regurgitating whatever the Kiev Kiddies say even when the facts were already obviously not on their side. So far, the facts have been on their side exactly once, that was when they said they wanted to overthrow the duly elected President.

Skumbucket that he may be, the coup crowd could have waited on the already scheduled elections and since they didn't they're not in favor of having a democratic Ukraine. Their actions speak louder than their words.

The coup "government" is a clique of academics and frustrated bureaucrats who have promoted themselves far, far, beyond their abilities with the help and money the EU has given them, period.

Oh, I see. 2000 is now 10000 when someone may actually fact check what you said.

You're perverting my response, but, remember, the Ukrainian population is 45 million people. Beyond that, don't bother rephrasing what the ruling clique in Kiev has to say. I can get that trash the Kiev Kiddies propaganda rags just as easily as you do.

The "ruling clique" in Kyiv is the Ukrainian Rada that was democratically elected in October 2012. Just to remind you, that means there was no coup in Ukraine.

So far, the facts have been on their side exactly once, that was when they said they wanted to overthrow the duly elected President.

You have no idea what you are talking about and are just saying random things. But to your Yaunukovych comment. Yanukovych fled the country to a foreign enemy. He was not overthrown. He was, however, going to be prosecuted for using the Berkut to kidnap and beat protestors, and, later, for the murder of protestors. Not to mention the billions he looted from the Ukrainian economy. Once his own party turned against him, the writing was on the wall.

Skumbucket that he may be, the coup crowd could have waited on the already scheduled elections and since they didn't they're not in favor of having a democratic Ukraine. Their actions speak louder than their words.

FYI, the communist "People's Republic of Donetsk," created by the Kremlin, opposes the upcoming elections in May. Poll after poll has also shown that 65 to 75 percent of the population in the East and South oppose annexation and the separatists.

The vote will be in favor of Ukrainian unity, if Russia does not invade before then.

The coup "government" is a clique of academics and frustrated bureaucrats who have promoted themselves far, far, beyond their abilities with the help and money the EU has given them, period.

FYI, Right Sector is also very anti-EU as well. You need to get your BS synced correctly.
