Donald Sterling Reportedly Will Sue NBA If Forced to Sell Clippers
BleacherReport ^ | April 30, 2014 | R. Cory Smith

Like with any other situation that has arisen over the past several decades, Donald Sterling plans to do everything he can to keep his team.

After having the hammer slammed on him Tuesday, the current Los Angeles Clippers owner is set to fight the judgement from Adam Silver. The penalties handed down included Sterling receiving a lifetime ban from the NBA and being fined $2.5 million, and Silver said he will try to force the controversial owner to sell his franchise.

Sterling plans to sue the NBA if the owners do ultimately vote to force him to sell the Clippers, per Kevin Armstrong, Bill Madden and Teri Thompson of The New York Daily News:

Donald Sterling won’t go down without a fight, according to an NBA executive who is close to the disgraced owner of the Clippers, and will sue the NBA if the other 29 owners vote to force him to sell.

"The wheels are in motion to remove Sterling, a process that the executive said Wednesday night would lead to a lawsuit by the disgraced owner, possibly tying up the future of the team for years.

“He is not going to sell the team,” the executive said. "

Another source close to the situation also said, "He’ll sue and it’ll take years to settle," according to the report.

We discussed this earlier. We’ll see. I disagree with what he said but I think it’s horrible how he’s being treated.

interesting that a few weeks ago hank aaron made some incredibly racist statements and most, at worst, brushed it off as an old black man shooting his mouth off, but nothing more.

What he said was wrong, but he’s not the only one with dirty hands. If I were Donald Sterling, I’d hire PI’s of my own to investigate this V-babe, Magic Johnson among others.

Just going off the horrible recording, Sterling was referring to SPECIFIC black people that he didn't like, and didn't want his gold digging GF to bring to games.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but he had every reason to NOT want his GF hanging around with Magic Johnson. Or any of his posse.

He DIDN'T say he didn't want "black people to come to games".

He's stupid, but not THAT stupid.

For the record he IS a racist.

No secret there. And it's been known for decades.

Totally agree. Funny how the picture is there of Magic and then, this setup is suspicious. I’ve been calling it entrapment if that is the correct word.

You can lead a lot of people to say something.

If he wouldn’t be accused of being vindictive it would sure be great if he found a conspiracy between MJ, OW etal trying to get the team.

The beauty would be watching them ‘squirm’ as others demanded MJ be stripped of his Dodger ownership because of the ‘conspiracy’.

Then to save herself, OW could spill the beans on how Chicago ‘personalities’ coerced her and BO to bribe the Olympic committee .... Then the Chicago ‘personalities’ would ‘close the case’ BEFORE it really got started...

I am humming the tune from “The Man from La Mancha”

This is like planning how to spend the 400 mill lotto...<:

V-Girl may want to get herself tested, for ‘whatever’. Somewhere, there are a series of tapes or videos showing Magic and V-Girl chatting over drinks. If she is as coniving as I credit her for she had a friend of a friend record those meetings for her own protection. Would’nt it be funny if she ended up blackmailing the black male with evidence from his own caper? Stay tuned. I predict a couple of movies will come out of this, maybe even a popular dance. Do the Lucy-Watusi!!

If he was forced to sell the team, couldn’t he sell his ownership to his wife? How could the NBA force the sale if his wife owns 50% of the team? They can’t persecute her for her husbands comments.

True! Rush had that on today about Sterling and his gift of 3 million to UCLA.

Sterling is an imp and a player. He already is smiling at the chance to chew up the NBA front office and their legal team. Sterling is tired of those 20 mil a year crybabies getting all the fame. Now he gets to take jump shots and run out the clock in California courts

Seems like the senile old coot billionaire was illegally recorded, entrapped, and conspired against to have his team removed from his control and subject to sale against his will with the perpetrators braying about it in plain sight.

I assume even if he is forced to sell, the co conspirators can’t name the price.

Whats to stop him from saying sure the team is for sale, FOR A TRILLION DOLLARS.

The NBA is going to wish they never opened up this can of worms, a three day investigation by that dweeb Silver isn’t going to stand up very well in court.

Pathetic bunch of losers and imbeciles from top to bottom, even Chavez and Maduro wouldn’t try to pull a stunt like this.

The owners are about to experience an unprecedented drop in attendance to boot, EBT cards don’t buy many tickets.
