Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling reiterated to Fox News Wednesday that the team "is not for sale," likely signaling a looming legal battle with the NBA should his fellow owners try to force a sale over Sterling's racist remarks.

As long as he doesn’t have Sotomayor as a judge he may have a chance.
Donald Sterling does not have a case, but his wife, if she divorces him may have a case.
only thing i wonder is if he’s still dating the girlfriend who recorded him.
Do people have a reading problem. So far, the NBA has not forced him to sell. They may want him to sell, but Adam Silver did not say he would be forced to sell. What language must this be written in, before people understand?
I kind of bet he is.
You really think the law is cut and dry that he won’t keep his team? I see that this could involve a wide-array of laws. Not simply about whether the other team owners vote him out.
By the way, I’m not for him but I am for justice.
Ever been in the woods with a Griz chasin ya? Me neither but would you be concerned with correctly saying that “Well, the Griz hasn’t eaten me yet so everyone clam down!”
I would not be surprised! LOL
I don’t think he did anything wrong except have a phone conversation regarding who he prefers to frequent his business.
But, I don’t think Adam Silver and the NBA owners would do this if they knew they could not.
The big problem is that major advertisers warned that they would not buy advertising for any Clipper game if Sterling remained as team owner.
At that point they have not choice but to boot him out as the NBA needs the TV revenue.
“Donald Sterling does not have a case....”
Care to flesh that out a bit?
I think they may have panicked, faced with an approaching boycott by the players, and are hoping to build a tsunami of public and sports world opinion to overwhelm him. Or they’re hoping he drops dead soon and save their ass!
The NBA and team owners would have never taken such action if they could not and they had to take action against him because they would no longer be able to sell advertising for Clippers’ games.
But the wife did nothing wrong as far as the advertisers are concerned.
She can divorce him and sell the other 50% to other investors.
Whom did not see this coming?
She is known as a female version of him. IOW, she is known for making racist comments. BTW, they have been married 60 years.
When cooler heads begin to prevail, as they are already beginning to, the NBA is going to realize they have grabbed the “Tar Baby.”
The Tar-Baby is a fictional character in the second of the Uncle Remus stories published in 1881; it is a doll made of tar and turpentine used to entrap Br’er Rabbit. The more that Br’er Rabbit fights the Tar-Baby, the more entangled he becomes.
In modern usage, “tar baby” refers to any “sticky situation” that is only aggravated by additional contact.
The first problem for Sterling was that no one liked him and he spent 30 years putting a inferior product on the court and on TV.
As I understand it, since Sterling bought the Clippers they have the worst overall record of any NBA, NFL, MLB or NHL team.
Second, even though it was a private conversation, he violated the Number One Rule of the PC Police by talking about blacks and their not being welcome at his business.
With that, the players do not play for or against the Clippers and the advertisers do not advertise in Clippers games.
The only was cooler heads could prevail is for major national advertisers to say, “We overreacted to Sterling’s comments about not wanting black folks at Clippers’ games and we made a big mistake for refusing to buy advertising time during Clippers’ games, and now we are all for Donald Sterling and his view on race.”
[We overreacted to Sterlings comments about not wanting black folks at Clippers games]
He never said that.
The best revenge: tell the Clippers and NBA that he’s shutting down the team at the end of the season and everyone will be out of their jobs. All Clippers property will be disposed. And no, he won’t be selling the franchise to anyone. Have a nice day, NBA!
