Mayweather: Abortion Caused Breakup, 'I'm Totally Against Killing Babies'
Breitbart ^ | 2 May 2014 | Daniel J. Flynn

Floyd Mayweather, who faces the heavy-handed Marcos Maidana on pay-per view Saturday night from Las Vegas, tweeted out that his recent breakup stemmed from his fiancee's abortion. The Tweet quickly coaxed a delete.

"The real reason me and Shantel Christine Jackson @missjackson broke up was because she got a abortion," the undefeated welterweight tweeted, "and I'm totally against killing babies. She killed our twin babies."

Reportedly, Jackson, who had received a $10 million engagement ring from the fighter, initially told Mayweather she had miscarried. Since the breakup last year, she has moved on to a relationship with the rapper Nelly.

The publicizing of such private information, and the pro-life pronouncement, quickly elicited online outrage.

"Mayweather posting that announcement (basically called her a baby killer) plus ultrasound photos on FB is abusive behavior," Sports on Earth writer Jessica Luther tweeted. She labeled Money Mayweather and his online followers "anti-choicers." Another writer sees the Tweet as a potential disqualification for buying the Clippers, an idea the sports world's highest-paid athlete floated earlier this week. "Reminder that Floyd Mayweather is interested in owning the Los Angeles Clippers," Michael Katz wrote at SB Nation. "That seems like a bad idea."

Jessica Luther discussing her activism as part of the “Orange Shirts” movement during the summer of 2013. Luther was present at Democratic Congresswoman Wendy Davis’s filibuster and commented that it represented a particular moment of history “in the making.” With the use of social media, Luther was able to connect globally to those desperate for news “from the Capitol floor.” Her activism and role in “creating” history this summer coincides with her dissertation that examines the English empire, slavery, and the history of the body in Barbados. Women’s bodies, Luther argued, represent sites over which politicians attempt to exert control. Where some contemporary social commentators are surprised at the attention to abortion rights during an economic recession and politically divided period, Jessica said this is exactly what one would expect during times of crisis if one examines the historical record.

Michael Katz - SB Nation: If you don't agree with me you have no right to own an NBA team. Never mind that 90% of the players are probably racist in private, have beat up at least one girlfriend and had numerous kids with numerous women, many have done and still do drugs, been arrested, etc.

next time, maybe he should marry a woman beforehand and she’ll be a lot more likely to have his baby.

Post of the morning!!!

Next time, try marriage first. With a woman who values her soul and life in general. You know. A woman who loves God and wants to keep His commandments.

Amen!!!!

“Post of the morning!!! “

Yes lets take an opportunity to perhaps bring people to Christ or at least push a pro-life attitude using an extremely high profile globally known athlete, and turn it into a bash fest about how stupid he was and if he had only been perfect his babies wouldn’t have been murdered.

Yes, thats going to further Gods glory and save millions of babies from being murdered.

Right?

I’m not a Mayweather fan, but I feel bad for him here. His kids were murdered. If I was in this same boat, I’d dump her too.

Almost but not quite.

He is every bit as guilty of producing new life without being responsible enough to provide for it, and he is responsible for his potential children open to destruction at someone else’s whim.

But that isn’t quite as bad as actually making the determination to destroy human life for sake of convenience.

He wasn’t married to her.

He didn’t want to use a condom or abstain.

He is guilty too.

Disagree. Equally guilty.

Basically? That's what she is. Her boyfriend is a millionaire athlete and there was no financial problem involved with raising the twins. This is violence and gross disrespect against the father as well if, indeed, he was the father.

She was engaged to a wealthy man, gets pregnant, and aborts the baby. Doesn't sound like what a rational woman would do, UNLESS the baby wasn't his, and she didn't think she could get child support from him once he found out.

My bet is that she was merely a selfish b*tch and “didn’t want to be punished with a baby.”

No, I don't think so. She's approaching 30, and her looks won't last much longer, with her partying lifestyle. A baby plus being married to Mayweather would have made her financially secure long after her looks went.

Looking further, it looks like she had the abortion after Mayweather voiced doubts as to whether the kid was his. If he had delayed the marriage until after the birth, in order to verify that the babies were his, then she would have been screwed if it turned out the twins were the children of some asset-less thug.

He’s guilty of sex outside of marriage and of choosing a low life woman.

He’s not guilty of murder.

Nobody said he was guilty of murder.

Sex outside of marriage, apparently.

Failure to use a condom or abstinence to avoid pregnancy or STDs, apparently.

Doesn’t matter, we should be using this to condemn abortion and the lack of input men have into the process. Not throwing stones at him for being a sinner from our glass houses.
