There are a lot of articles that get posted detailing screw ups by cops, and a common theme of some posters is that soon, the JBT types, holster sniffers, cops and ex-cops will show up to defend the cops. I wonder if the cop haters at FreeRepublic will bother to read the above quote and try to comprehend it.

Very few, if any, on Free Republic hate honest policeman. A Officer who knows that he/she is just another individual earning a living, not some petty tyrant. Now crooked cops, cops that abuse their authority under the color/cover of law, cops that beat helpless people to death, cops that shot innocent people because, “I was in fear of my life”, is a horse of a different color. initially, this board was very pro law enforcement, but as each member had their , through no fault of their own, negative encounters with cops, the mood began to change to where it is now. Me? At one time, I wholeheartedly supported the police, but after a number of negative encounters with them, I learned to avoid then whenever possible.
