This is a state responsiblity that has at least 50 varying sets of regulations.
Bringing this to a uniform process won’t happen and probably shouldn’t
as it then would most likely become a federal process.

One solution that may help but not solve all the problems is to mail out a
voter card every two years to the current registered address. Those
cards should not be forwarded and returned if not deliverable at
that address. Then the name should be removed from the voter roles
as that means they don’t reside were they were registered.

But the beat goes on.......

This SHOULD be uniform ,, The FedGov should not write state laws but it is perfectly OK for the Senate for instance to have a rule that if a state doesn’t have fraud safeguards 1-8 in place then the results of their election will not be accepted and their nominee will not be seated.
