Tina Brown to Hillary: Forget the White House, Enjoy Being a Grandma

Former Vanity Fair editor Tina Brown has urged Hillary Clinton not to enter the race for the White House in 2016 — and instead enjoy her life as a soon-to-be grandmother and an ex-president's wife.

Brown wrote in an opinion piece for The Daily Beast that the former Secretary of State should just have fun with the perks of the "post-presidency" and reject the chance to endure "the vile toxicity of the campaign experience and the grueling gridlock of the Oval Office itself."

Brown, who co-founded the Daily Beast, noted that former presidents, such as George W. Bush, Jimmy Carter, and Clinton's husband, Bill, are enjoying their time out of office far more than when they were in Washington, D.C.

I read an analysis of why Hillary will run, at least through the primaries. As long as she’s a candidate she’s dragging in huge bucks in “speaking fees.” (That’s bribes in regular speak.) She’s also got big business in her pocket to the tune of $240 million. If she announces she’s not running all of that income dries up.

I think Tina Brown may have noticed this liability: Hillary Clinton will be 69 years old just one month before Election Day 2016. Meanwhile, the viable Republican candidates for President are at minimum 8 years younger than her by 2016.

People forget Barack Obama was only 48 when he was elected in 2008, one of the youngest Presidents ever elected; I think the days of the 65+ year old President candidate may be coming to an end.
