Only once! Yes, pine smoke smells good in small doses but a lungfull is killer. Potentially literally since pine smoke is toxic whereas hardwood smoke generally is not. Found that out when I grilled burgers over pine coals that weren’t sufficiently burned down.

Not any pine here, but plenty of cedar-actually, it is Ashe Juniper-but you don’t grill meat over it-there is plenty of oak and that is great to grill with.
