Their sense of self importance is far to great for them to conceive of that. When they are standing up against a wall and getting the blindfold put on, most will still believe that it’s some sort of mistake, cant be happening because Herr Leader loves them.
BINGO! The same pertains to the power they associate with public office. The corruption is immense. The love of money is very much in play as well. To the extent these people forget what public service is about, they will run themselves and everyone around them into the ground. It will not be pretty when they fall, and they WILL fall.
