With his decision Friday to inject himself and the White House into the death penalty debate, President Obama once again inflamed a racial controversy in the country with the only apparent goal of benefiting the Democratic Party in upcoming elections.
Its Trayvon Martin all over again.
In March 2012, President Obama was looking at a tough re-election fight when he used a White House news conference to inject himself and his office into the debate over the fatal shooting of the black Florida teenager.
On Friday, looking at a disastrous mid-term election looming in November, he used a White House news conference to inject himself and his office into the debate over the execution of black Oklahoma killer Clayton Lockett.
As Neil Munro points out at the Daily Caller, the presidents statement was all the dog whistle Democrats and their media acolytes need to bring the death penalty and the countrys allegedly irredeemable racism into the midterm campaigns.
No matter what that might cost the country.
The resemblance between the two cases is striking.
Both times Obamas racial appeal was explicit. In 2012, asked about the case of George Zimmerman, the white man accused of shooting Martin, Obama said, If I had a son, he would look like Trayvon.
On Friday, asked about Oklahomas botched execution of Lockett on Tuesday, Obama said, We have seen significant problems racial bias, uneven application of the death penalty, situations in which there were individuals on death row who were later on were discovered to have been innocent and all these I think do raise significant questions about how the death penalty has been applied.
Other than dishonest media hype, there was zero evidence that the fight between George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin that led to Martins death had anything to do with Martin being black. In fact, the most compelling evidence of a racial element in the case came from Martin who called Zimmerman a creepy-ass white cracker.
Likewise, there has been no solid accusation that racism played a role in the death penalty for Clayton Lockett, who was convicted of the brutal killing of a white teenager in Oklahoma in 1999. It was the president of the United States that brought race into this one.
In both cases, Obama injected himself into the debate willingly, using questions are news conferences he could have either avoided or answered without controversy.
In both cases, the president needlessly and baselessly injected himself and his office into a polarizing debate guaranteed to inflame his liberal base.
In both cases, the political benefit was resoundingly in favor of the Democrat Party and its perpetually aggrieved base of minority activists and self-loathing white liberals.
After Obamas statement on the Martin killing, the case was unstoppable fodder for every race-baiting liberal outlet in the country through Obamas re-election in November up to Zimmermans acquittal of murder in June, and the riots that followed.
How long the Lockett-death penalty-racism issue will stay in the public eye is now up to the liberal media and the televised hate-mongers like Al Sharpton and his posse at MSNBC.
Because on Friday, they got the green light from the White House.
If pain botches an execution, then Obama’s botching his execution of America.
President Obama has been performing a botched lethal injection, on the Constitutional rights of every American, since his first election!
0bama is metaphorically smashing America’s head on the sidewalk.
obama better lay off that dog whistle, I hear blowing it was how he ended up with moochelle...............well he was blowing something.
FK Obozo, Self serving SOB that he is. No more Mr nice guy executions, Rope, old sparky, 38 slug to the back of the head, gas chamber etc, etc. The last execution went just fine the SOB got to suffer but not near as much as his victim did. Eye for an eye,
I have a different take on this issue.
I think this admin is fomenting a RACE RIOT .. in order to prove to the world that white people are racists.
Sadly, too many minority races are willing to believe him.
On my list of problems that need attention, executions gone wrong is nowhere to be found.
What about bringing back public executions and the guillotine. What we need these days is a crime deterrent.
The tired, worn out race card isn’t going to work when confronted with the facts of what this guy - and the one awaiting execution later this month - did. I heard some of the details on a radio show and had to put the volume down for a few seconds midway through them. Horrific.
These men broke the social contract irreparably and should be be ushered away to the next life. As a Christian, I sometimes struggle with the death penalty, but hearing the details of these crimes...just get them out of here.

I am all for it.
What about this guy’s botched murder where he either buried his victim alive or nearly so.
Someone should reassure Hussein that his execution for Treason won’t be botched.
I’m confident he’ll be arrested and convicted if he keeps this up.
A botched execution would have been if the guy survived, he died execution a success.
What is this dog whistle stuff? I’ve never met anybody who could hear a dog whistle.
Just more of Obama bringing us together.
Obama, Jan. 3, 2008: The time has come for a president who will be honest about the choices and the challenges we face, who will listen to you and learn from you, even when we disagree, who wont just tell you what you want to hear, but what you need to know.
)))
)))
by bringing Democrats and Republicans together to get the job done.
STAND UP FOR REMORSELESS KILLERS WHO BURY 19 YEAR OLD WOMEN ALIVE.
Obama, you are clearly OWNED by Satan.
What’s blotched? The death penalty was carried out. More should suffer like their victims.
