HarHar. Cheney said that it would probably be the "mother of all retreats." He won my heart. That war got very personal to me. We weren't TOO far out of reach of Sadaam's missile range.
I was NEVER, EVER so glad of anything to learn that we (American forces) WERE in the Gulf at the time...a "top secret" deal that no one knew about. We only "knew" because we HEARD the jets all the time and saw the aircraft carrier at the mouth of the Gulf.
We also KNEW because we got REAL booze -- surreptitiously, of course, from the "not there" U.S. troops. One DOES NOT get "Johnny Walker Red Label" from ANY PLACE over there, unless it IS from the U.S. military.
What a difference from the swill we ARAMCONS made in our own bootleg still rooms. :o)
