Criticism of President Obama is now coming from all corners because well because his poor performance in just about every field, both foreign and domestic, can no longer be denied. The latest blast comes from a former journalistic fangirl who apparently has seen enough. Using baseball as her analogy, Maureen Dowd takes Obama to the woodshed:
An American president should never say, as you did Monday in Manila when you got frustrated in a press conference with the Philippine president: You hit singles; you hit doubles. Every once in a while, we may be able to hit a home run.
Especially now that we have this scary World War III vibe with the Russians, we expect the president, especially one who ran as Babe Ruth, to hit home runs.
In the immortal words of Earl Weaver, the Hall of Famer who managed the Baltimore Orioles: The key to winning baseball games is pitching, fundamentals, and three-run homers. A singles hitter doesnt scare anybody.
It doesnt feel like leadership. It doesnt feel like youre in command of your world.
How can we accept these reduced expectations and truculent passivity from the man who offered himself up as the moral beacon of the world, even before he was elected?
Of course, the answer to all of these questions really fall back on the person asking them what did she expect from a man whod never really done anything in his life whose entire adult life was spent running for the next office?
How did an experienced and supposedly rational person like herself fall so completely for the expectations? The point of course is Dowd, like many on the left, is finally expressing a case of buyers remorse because they didnt do their due diligence

Good points.
What did she expect from Mr. Voting Present who wears mom jeans.
To little too late from the libtard press.
The damage has been done, and they have been complicit.
Its a scary day when I can agree with MODO...pray for our country.....its going to get a bit bumpy from here.
If Obama weren’t a sociopath, having lived a life of being the token pushed front and center, the failings of his presidency would be destroying him emotionally, but I get the feeling he just enjoys the perks and luxury, and never thinks much about shame and torment, or even historical embarrassment.
Ty Cobb, Pete Rose, Tony Gwynn, Wade Boggs and Ichiro have put fear into a few pitchers.
He’s performance is consistent with his record. No one should be surprised.
“The key to winning baseball games is pitching, fundamentals, and three-run homers.”
Well it’s pretty well established that he can’t throw a pitch.
Thank You for following the rules for all MODO postings.
Predicted in Ghostbusters:
Dr Ray Stantz: Everything was fine with our system until the power grid was shut off by dickless here.
Mayor: Is this true?
Dr. Peter Venkman: Yes it’s true. [pause] This man has no dick.
I read again today an article that included the following phrase; ‘he (Obama) is one of the brightest to ever be President.’ I thought WHAT!!! How can one conclude that??? We have not seen transcripts, he admits he choomed through high school. He has accomplished little.
Barry is more about homo runs than home runs. Barry’s flag is all the colors of the rainbow.
Lord knows that Mobama the Wookie loves those perks. She thinks she's earned them.
Putin is playing baseball. Obama is playing wiffle ball.
That’s distracting.
Forgot what the article was about....
“Listen!?....Can you smell that?”
>>>>>>>>>he (Obama) is one of the brightest to ever be President. I thought WHAT!!! How can one conclude that???
You gotta believe. Check this out from the Imus Show, Nov. 10, 2008:
Historian Michael Beschloss: Yeah. Even aside from the fact of electing the first African American President and whatever ones partisan views this is a guy whose IQ is off the charts I mean you cannot say that he is anything but a very serious and capable leader and you know You and I have talked about this for years
Imus: Well. What is his IQ?
Historian Michael Beschloss: our system doesnt allow those people to become President, those people meaning people THAT smart and THAT capable
Imus: What is his IQ?
Historian Michael Beschloss: Pardon?
Imus: What is his IQ?
Historian Michael Beschloss: Uh. I would say its probably - hes probably the smartest guy ever to become President.
Imus: Thats not what I asked you. I asked you what his IQ was.
Historian Michael Beschloss: You know that I dont know and Id have to find someone with more expertise
Imus: You dont know.
Historian Michael Beschloss: What do YOU think it is?
Imus: I dont know. Well mine is 164. I dont know what that means but its a little higher than normal I guess.
Historian Michael Beschloss: Well its way beyond genius which does not surprise me.
Imus: It surprised a lot of people when we took it.
Historian Michael Beschloss: Well it doesnt surprise me.
+10 ;)
