Negro is a superior term to black in describing melanin rich people. As the brilliant David Horowitz points out, the term black has many negative connotations; e.g., Black Death, black heart; etc; however, when I mentioned this to my black friends, they still ask me not to use the term Negro. African American does not accurately explain all melanin rich people since some such as Sidney Potier hail from the West Indies. Leave it to Jesse Jackson to coin such a ridiculous term as African American.
Only a Negro from the John Birch Society understands the superiority of the term Negro to black and has the good sense to ask that people call him Negro instead.
Ernie Els and Gary Player are African. If they take up residence here they too would be African Americans.
