WASHINGTON THE First Family is all over the news, discussing the management of the economy, income inequality, raising the minimum wage, the vicissitudes of press coverage and the benefits of healthy eating.
Everywhere you look, the Clintons rule.
Bill popped up on the front page of The Times giving a speech at his alma mater, Georgetown University, in which he defended his economic policies and chastised the press for its tendency to create a storyline that doesnt match reality. (Sort of like the storyline the Clintons created about Monica Lewinsky being a delusional stalker.)
Hillarys Apache dance with the press is detailed in the new issue of Politico Magazine, a piece that got a lot more buzz than the news the White House was excited about on Friday: a sharp drop in the unemployment rate.
Chelsea is serenely smiling from the cover of Fast Company for a story on how the product of two of the most powerful brands in the world is carving out her own identity by joining the family business, as vice chair in charge of shaping up the tangled finances of the Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation. Her impending baby is being treated with enormous fanfare and exhaustive political analysis, like Americas answer to Britains bonny Prince George.
Obamaworld was even paranoid that Hillaryland would hijack the B-list festivities associated with the annual White House Correspondents Dinner this weekend.
The former and future Democratic regime is clearly itching to get back in the saddle and relieve a president who is stalled on every front, and who never really got any joy from working the joystick of power or appreciated the value of the carrot-stick approach that helped Lincoln and L.B.J. bend history.

David Plouffe, the presidents former top political adviser, said Hillary could call him for advice and told Bloombergs Al Hunt that theres very little oxygen for another Democrat to challenge her.
As Obama has learned, to his dismay, theres now very little oxygen for him, too.
The entire economy is in the tank—lies will not obfuscate that fact. And the Shrewdowd is writing about how it all affects the Clintons and the kenyan.
How about how does this affect our nation? Is anyone interested in that?
No, the press, the “professionals” blather on about how this or that makes the kenyan look.
These are all awful people, people you would not invite to your home, people you would not ask to feed your goldfish.
It is beyond belief, we live in a bizzaro world.
Grifters and kenyans. I guess this is the best we can do anymore. And people doubt God much less whether God is already judging the country.
—yep—as Putin goes on reconstituting the USSR, China flexes its muscle, Russia wants bases in Venezuela,1 in 5 households has nobody working, etc.,etc., —we get Clintonmania from the press, sprinkled with the pillow talk of an elderly bigot-—
What we need is the first women president, there I fixed it! The continuation of American’s downward spiral because of the American Idol syndrom and STUPID people!
How about how does this affect our nation? Is anyone interested in that?
Its not that I disagree with you, but this is how modern journalism works. If theres a disaster it matters not that half a million people are without power. The press will focus in on Mrs. Leon Tippytop and the fact that she had to serve cold pizza. While youre anxious to hear whether the power company will get the power back on its sheer accident if that information is sandwiched between Mrs. Tippytops cold pizza and Mr. Tonsillectomy missing his All in the Family rerun. Journalism is all about the human angle, which means you get a microscopic examination of a leaf instead of a panorama of the forest.
In this particular case the author is lamenting that the pending Clinton run (disaster, IM0) has overshadowed presidents remaining time in office, (also a disaster, IM0.)
But if you were in a burning building surrounded by hostiles, would she rescue you?
“The entire economy is in the tanklies will not obfuscate that fact.”
Don’t be too sure. Talk to any low-info voter and they are happy to recite the talking points: Low unemployment, economy on the fix, DOW through the roof, obamacare saving millions of lives, terrorists on the run...
Second paragraph - one powerful reminder... Seems Dowd has reservations - good for her.
Must alert Admin Mod...

Dowd is reminding us. It doesn't matter how 'tough' or 'likable' an amoral person is... they're gonna screw you over... Clinton is NOT 'the one'...
The Clintons——a terrifying concentration of power King George would approve.
The Clintons’ baldfaced power-madness is terrifying. Billy apparently has unfinished monkey business in the WH-—
Hillary’s obsessive reach for power is mind-boggling. She cant leave it alone.
Why dont they just go home and live their lives out quietly like most seniors do.
The Clintons are too old for this....not to mention, extremely disturbed.
The perfect expression of high exasperation. . .and I concur!. .NOT EVEN TO FEED MY GOLDFISH. . .love it!
It’s all a ruse to make Hillary appear to be inevitable, a force of nature. She doesn’t stand a chance—she can’t squeal her way into the White House.
Are we assuming Hitlery is a shoo-in? I don’t.
Ronald Reagan was 69 years old when he was elected President. He took a lot of flack from the press about being 'so old'. If Hillary won she would be 69 years old her first term. And the press? Crickets.
Grifters and kenyans. I guess this is the best we can do anymore
Hitlery must have two ingredients to make her queen. The “ComeYets” must come out in force trying to keep their petty goodie train going and the opposition must fall on its face by running another McLame/Mitt with purists sitting at home “to teach us more lessons”.
Surely a stunning woman, yet so mentally messed up it’s just sad.
