Parents have more options as overeducated young people turn to baby-sitting.
Ashley Newhall of Philadelphia has a law degree and a master's in agricultural law, and she passed the bar in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. These days, she's working with some extremely demanding and exacting clients.
Most of them are less than 3 years old. Newhall's primary income source for the past few years has been baby-sitting.
Parents, said Newhall, are "blown away. They're like, 'Oh my gosh! You're the most overeducated nanny I've ever had.' "
But jobs are scarce, and all that education came with six-figure debt for Newhall, 28. Along with two other jobs, she said, "the nannying is keeping me afloat."
Newhall may consider her stint in the nursery a detour. But for busy parents, it's a boon. Parents are enjoying a pool of highly qualified and educated 20-something sitters — some with safety certifications and degrees in early-childhood education — often at the same price as the high-schooler down the street.

I'm confused. It's degrading for a college-educated mother to bring up her own children, but a college-educated babysitter accrues "professional prestige and respect"?
Using our interpretive key, "What is the pro-Democrat purpose of this article?" I deduce that we're supposed to think, after reading this, that an economy based on women's paying one another to take care of their children is an improvement over the way things were when those awful Republicans were in office.
That job ought to pay off her student loans in about a 150 years.
Yesterday on twitter I saw some clown whining that “his” degree in woman’s studies means he should make more than minimum wage.
I could practically hear his gasp of horror over the net when I suggested that he go find work on a farm. It will pay far more than minimum wage and cows aren’t all that different from liberal women.
There will be an article soon extolling the virtues of being on food stamps.
Unemployment is 6 point something. Cool. Everything is all right. Economy is “slowly but steadily” rebounding. Excellent. Don’t forget to sign up for obamacare or pay the fine.
Also, since the products of these "schools" are essentially ungovernable, it would be wise to hire a college graduate as a governess to teach discipline, not just a nanny to keep them from harming themselves as they grow up like Topsy.
Of course, without government, they will become liberals, won't they?

There already have been a number of pieces, detailing both how inadequate food stamps are and how great the government-supported lifestyle is. Some showcase the iconic, virtuous never-married mother, while others emphasize the freedom it gives 20-somethings with artsy aspirations.
This sort of article doesn’t backup the officially reported unemployment stats. But as in any socialist government, official statistics are tortured until they give the politically correct answer. Reality is unimportant.

As with any similar story of college graduates doing work like this, this is what happens when you cheapen the sheepskin by producing too many of them. No surprise.

Stop taxpayer funding of schools and students and the degrees will be worth something again. Also the schools will shed the cesspool of worthless courses available today.
For high academic achievers with little money, private scholarships should be fine.

I would NEVER, EVER, let my kids near someone with a degree in “early-childhood education”. NEVER.
