About the same time Bishop Robinson was leaving his family, our local parish priest was removed from his job for having an affair with a married woman, while he, himself, was married. He eventually had his Orders revoked, because he refused to break it off. A punishment handed down only twice in the history of the ECUSA.

Not to say he didn’t deserve it. He did defy his bishop and the national church. But his pattern of behavior was exactly the same as Bishop Robinson’s, save the one small fact that he took up with a married woman, while Bishop Robinson took up with a married man.

So while my parish priest gets drummed out of church, they make Robinson a Bishop.

“Are they going to have a fake divorce to end their fake marriage?”

Very real dollars will be involved. This is an expanding business area for all the predatory “Family” Lawyers.

If only homosexual bishops were allowed to get married, this wouldn’t ... oh, wait a minute ...

Interesting. I didn’t know he had a wife and children. So let’s see: he’s an adulterer, sodomite, and a twice divorcer who abandoned his family.

If he didn’t bother reading the Scripture that talks about how a man will leave his parents and become one with his WIFE and that homosexuality is a sin, I guess he didn’t notice Malachi 2:16: “I hate divorce,” says the Lord, the God of Israel, “because the man who divorces his wife covers his garment with violence.”

The more his garment is covered with violence, the more the left adores him.

Truly an abomination. Jesus is weeping.

Perverted thought: This could spawn a whole new trend - if you want to have an affair with a member of the opposite sex, get a "beard" of the same sex for cover.

It’s more likely that Gene’s “partner” passed his expiration date, and he’s ready to go shopping for some fresher meat. Even though Gene looks old and decrepit, there are still young twinkies in search of a sugar daddy.

None of us are without sin. The question is whether we will wallow in sin and celebrate the rejection of God's word or resist when we have the strength and repent when we fail. When a bishop is the one publicly wallowing in physical pleasure over God's word, and those actions are praised, that worries me.

Did his “partner” cheat or did he? Maybe they were both cheating.

Only if it’s a sin to commit “adultery” against your “partner”.

In nearly all gay marriages, both partners cheat. Unrestricted sex with other mean is an inherent facet of the gay lifestyle that “marriage” will not change on iota.

I should say nearly all male gay marriages. It may well be different with lesbians.

Was there a “wife” in this arrangement, or were they both “husbands?” It’s hard to keep up with the definition extensions.

Impossible. There was never a marriage in the first place.

well, I share your disgust at the lawyers that fan the flames. There are however, those of us in the practice that advise these cheaters what their neighbors, pastors, parents and colleagues are too weak to say: You need to understand, your children do NOT care about your “happiness”, they will be mortified and embarrassed by your ridiculous conduct, and you will rupture the relationship with them forever even if they play along. What kids want and deserve is an intact family that bands together against an uncaring and cold world and provides them a safe haven in which to grow up and develop.
