Second Amendment absolutists complain that gun control advocates are an out-of-touch elite seeking to destroy the way of life of real men who pack heat. At the National Rifle Association's convention in Indianapolis last weekend, Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre warned his members that their lifestyle was under assault.
"I have never seen it on edge the way it is now," he said. "If it's going to be saved, it's in our hands. It's in your hands."
There's no better venue than this gathering to experience the pain and joy of gun owners. To those not steeped in guns, the exhibition hall with weapons arrayed as far as the eye can see is a frightening display. It is also a place where the young and female are pursued. Kids are encouraged to fondle semi-automatics and take virtual target practice. Women have their own events, including one that features the latest fashions for heat-packing ladies.

Carlson is a hoplophobe.

“To those not steeped in guns, the exhibition hall with weapons arrayed as far as the eye can see is a frightening display.”
Yeah, they are positively volatile and unpredictable. They might break off of their stands and any minute and shoot little children and puppies.
Carlson is a worthless bag of excrement.
She is the Leftoid twit who called members of the military ‘moochers’ during an interview on the Don Imus show.
Carlson also defended Dave Letterman when he made his crude sex jokes about Governor Sarah Palin’s daughter.
She never met a liberal she wouldn’t defend.
You ever wonder why people with down syndrome have the same
looking eyes and liberals all have that dumpy dork polished
mud fence look?
I don’t think liberalism is as much a mental disorder as
it is a genetic disorder.
Not to be putting people with down syndrome down by
comparison to liberals but just as an example.
“Second Amendment absolutists complain that gun control advocates are an out-of-touch elite seeking to destroy the way of life of real men who pack heat.”
You really don’t need to read any further. The leftist mantra that the Second Amendment only protects a lifestyle is patently ridiculous. But that doesn’t stop them trotting it out at every possible opportunity.
It’s time to take back the nation. Study of the Constitution’s original intent, in the context of the language of the day, would be a great start.
The NRA's 4 million members don't seem to feel a corresponding obligation to understand the 90 percent of Americans who say in polls they would like to see universal background checks for gun buyers.
Yep - making up "facts" blather.
It's like they instinctively know (and still refuse to believe) that actual facts will not support their stance.
“The NRA’s 4 million members don’t seem to feel a corresponding obligation to understand the 90 percent of Americans who say in polls they would like to see universal background checks for gun buyers.”
What they don’t understand is the anti-gun bedwetters’ lies about their poll questions, and turning 5+ million NRA members into 4.
When I was young and ignorant, I'd have called her a skunk-molly, but that was yesterday, today she'd be a a sea hag from the depths of the ocean floor.
Dyslexic cunning runt.
I agree with your sentiments but think you do an injustice to the real Sea Hag.
Speaking of an out of touch elite - Margaret Carlson.
The joy of owning a gun is made clear when someone gets that unexpected 2 AM “visitor”.
A gun & a parachute are like in a couple of ways.
When your really, really need a parachute & you don’t have one, you will NEVER need either again.
I like how twice she used the expression “packed heat”.
The expression of “heat” in this context comes from the 1920s, where it originally meant “trouble with the police”, not its contemporary slang terms of “gat”, “rod” or “roscoe” meaning a gun.
And you have to admit, had she used some of those other words, her diatribe would have been more colorful.
“Women have their own events, including one that features the latest fashions for roscoe-packing gun molls.”

We have background checks dumbass.
If 90% supported this crappy bill, it would have passed.
