On a recent trip to Egypt with a delegation of national security experts and journalists we had the opportunity to meet with senior-level Egyptian security officials, as well as several members of the countrys various religious and civil society movements. The message being disseminated in the Western press about Egypt is contrary to the reality on the ground.
A recent Los Angeles Times article repeats the accusation that Egypts response to terrorism is in fact the reason Egypt is in such trouble. This narrative has become entrenched in some circles of the US foreign policy establishment. To quote directly from the article, some U.S. officials warn that the Egyptian actions may alienate civilians and spur anti-American sentiment.
The inference is that the al-Qaeda-affiliated political movement known as the Muslim Brotherhood (MB), ousted from government, continues to be the most important civilian political entity in the Arab worlds most populous nation and that the MB is a legitimate political actor. This is despite the Brotherhood being removed as a result of what may have been the largest popular democratic revolt in history, with tens of millions of anti-Brotherhood protesters flooding the streets in the summer of 2013 in rejection of the Brotherhoods theocratic regime.
Having spent an extensive amount of time in Egypt since the removal of President Morsi last June, I can say with confidence that anti-American sentiment is currently at a dangerously high level, but not for the reasons many in the press cite. The animosity stems from Americas policies of not backing the Egyptian people and their war on terrorism.
On our recent trip, members of Egypts civil society, that very backbone which any future democratic polity must be built on, asked us why Washington is supporting terrorism and not supporting the Egyptian people and military in their

The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
why Washington is supporting terrorism and not supporting the Egyptian people and military...
Ya know, I aks my self the same question....
Yeah I don’t understand why our government is shoving Islam down our throats and aligned themselves with the Muslim Brotherhood so ardently. Wait a sec yes I do. Our president is Muslim and Soros understands that the U.S. can be completely destroyed and dethroned in the world arena by putting savages in charge of our government.
Washington has a tremendous “man crush” on the Muzzie Bros.
They wanted to put stress on their organization by making them keep people in the streets 24/7 for longer than they planned on so they could identify as many of them as possible.
As things dragged on people who would have otherwise stayed in the shadows had to come out to deliver supplies or messages, pay people in person rather than through the usual Friday at the mosque subtle stuff, take a shift in the streets so others could work at their regular job, etc.
That made it possible for the Egyptian Military to identify the majority of the dedicated supporters and leaders so they knew who to hang, imprison, deport, or just intimidate by letting them know they were going to be watched from now on. As much industry as the military there has its hands in they can keep people from getting a decent job or let them know that one more step out of line and they'll lose their decent job.
That's exactly what Nasser did back in the fifties, let the demonstrations go on until the MB was having people who had not revealed themselves up to that point writing articles and giving speeches in hopes of pushing things over the edge instead of having the drag on and on.
How can you explain our peace process in Israel when we side with those responsible for mudering Sadaat.
I have friends in Cairo, and I can assure you they know the difference between Islam and Islamists.
They tried, convicted, sentenced 5-600 Islamists to death.
They know the Muslim Brotherhood is a terrorists organization (and affiliated with al Qaeda). They WILL NOT back away from that.
I don’t blame them.
George Soros makes a lot of his money trading Currencies, worldwide.
Volatility in Currency Markets creates greater opportunity to increase profits.
More profits means more US Dollars to Obama to recruit more Press Van Drivers such as renowned NSA Expert Tommy Vietok, “The Dude.”
Obama got his MB guy elected today in Libya. Too bad for him he failed in Syria and Egypt.
It’s so horrible to have an administration that is being run by Moslems and Moslem lovers.
Yep, I saw that interview. Not impressive.
Egypt’s Counterterrorism War Undermined by US Insistence on Muslim Brotherhood
Which is why Putin and the Coptic church are taking back the Ukraine. After hundreds of Coptic Christians were slaughtered wholesale by the Muslim Brotherhood in Cairo and elsewhere, Russia will now beat back the Muslims from Georgia, and elsewhere within Russia..... SOMETHING THE WEST HAS REFUSED TO DO IN ITS OWN NATIONS........especially by Obama who has Muslim Brotherhood people ON HIS WHITE HOUSE STAFF.
Thats just what is happening. Egypt will soon be again exclusively within the Russian hegemon, and a new protector of Israel will emerge .....no longer the USA but likely Russia.
Obama is a traitor the the American People, and Benghazi proved it.He would not fire on the Muslim Brotherhood to rescue his own people.
Obama treats them as allies and has them serve his administration.
We have a winner!!!!!!!!!!
