The incident worsened a growing diplomatic crisis between Turkey and Israel, who had once been close allies. …

Was Samantha Powers present at these meetings pushing for a Turkish naval presence in hope of provoking an Israeli attack which would then force NATO to intervene in order to carry out its responsibility to protect the boat load of radicals?

Erdogan is writing checks he may not be able to cash. The Turkish navy is not up to a fight with the Israelis

You have to wonder if Turkey would have tried to invoke NATO mutual defense in such an altercation, and what Barry might try to do.

A pair of Israeli Air Force F-15aI’s and it’s “game over” for the Turkish flotilla.

The U.S. Navy sank the battleship Yamato with iron bombs dropped by dive bombers. That was seventy years ago & before shipkilling missiles existed.

Turkish naval ships invading Israeli waters would last a few minutes, tops.

Hope Erdogan & his Koran-wavers know the words “casus belli”.

The Turkish navy is not up to a fight with the Israelis

Could be a valuable training exercise for the Israelis, but there are more productive methods.

But after mulling the possibility of an armed conflict with Israel, the government abandoned the idea of escorting the Mavi Marmara with warships.

"They chose...wisely."

By treaty, we would have to side with Turkey against Israel. That is not right.

Only if Israel was the aggressor.

That’s where this scenario could have gotten interesting, given our current Administration.
