The result of which we complain about daily. I am not sure how so many here never put the two together, because one led directly to, and is responsible for the other.
I will never understand how anyone gets to the place in their minds that in order to fix the greater evil, you add more lesser evils when all the lesser evils created the greater to begin with. The only thing more lesser evil leads to is Cuthulu since it reinforces the evil already there. AKA Greatest evil.
You know Norm, it’s why I try to get people to open their minds before the primaries. It is amazing the number of people who go “all/in”, before they know tenet one, of the candidate’s policies.
They hear populist sound-bites, and they confuse that with policy. “Why this sounds so good. They must have sound policies!” Well no, that’s not guaranteed at all.
I’m going round and round with someone on this issue right now.
Remember when John McCain said he wasn’t for amnesty. Sure enough the McCain/Kennedy bill had amnesty, for all intents and purposes, in it.
Some candidates flat ass lie. They’ll deny it until hell freezes over, bu they do.
We really need to stop playing along with the populist game plan.
