One guy you might like is running in the neighboring district to replace Rogers. Tom McMillin. He’s tight with Amash, but stronger on life issues.

Interesting that no one complains when someone from another state chimes to AGREE with them. But when they dare to disagree it’s “mind your own business”. Sorry but you don’t have dibs on Michigan. Every Congressman and Senator in the country has power over ALL of us so it’s EVERYBODY’s concern.

I for one support the normal conservative Republican Brian Robert Ellis to the Paultard Amash.

Bentivolio is another Paul Republican, not to mention a poor campaigner being outraised by his primary challenger. His presence in Congress is accidental, only to the naive is that something to celebrate.

While his seat is not in much danger this year he would probably be very vulnerable in 2016. In the 2012 special election for the last couple months of McCotter’s term, he LOST. Lucky for all of us that the simultaneous election for the full term was under new, slightly more Republican lines. I support turning him out in favor of his challenger, normal conservative Dave Trott.

I don’t give a rat’s patoot if the “establishment” agrees with me or not. Opposing Paulbots is something they get right, Paulbots are prone to kooky liberal votes and usually underperform at the polls.

Feel free to disagree or tell me I’m a moron but don’t you dare tell me to shut up because I don’t live in Michigan.

So what horrifying thing has Bentivolio done in office that makes you think we should replace him with an fine upstanding establishment candidate (democrat).

Its getting harder and harder to tell the difference between FReepers and DUmmies. Frankly I see no possible way that we’ll ever win the white house again with you clowns purging every impurity from your ever shrinking base.

I see we now hate those filthy blue collar workers.

I don’t pay that much attention to Amash. Other than some of his junk votes on right to life issues. At least your oppinion is based on what he has done in office. The attacks on Bentivolio are what really irritate me because they aren’t based on anything he’s actually done in DC. Its all vague personal crap. I can accept a moderate over a democrat but will not accept a moderate over a man who has proven his solid conservatism like Bentivolio has.

You know I generally don’t much care whether people like what I say because I call them as a see them and I see us losing miserably in the future. The enemies list has far surpassed the friends list and the math is simple.

I wish I had been wrong about this sort of thing in the past so I would have a reason to doubt myself but I don’t.

I told you already why I oppose renominating him. You want me to repeat it? He's an electorally weak, random guy that won the primary because he was the only name on the ballot. If not for redistricting making the seat slightly better, there would be a rat in it right now. His chances of losing to a rat are much greater than Trotts'. This is the primary reason in my opinion why much of the "establishment" doesn't want him, not that they hate him because he's too conservative for them.

Why do you call Trott a "democrat"/moderate ect ect? He looks like a normal conservative to me. Could it be hyperbolic slander because he's daring to run against the so called "tea party" favorite?

Its getting harder and harder to tell the difference between FReepers and DUmmies. Frankly I see no possible way that we’ll ever win the white house again with you clowns purging every impurity from your ever shrinking base.

Not sure what you are talking about. If you are talking about "purging" Ronulans, I don't think Ronulans are good for the party (talking more about Amash here though KB was a Ron Paul supporter too), they are mismanaging those state party orginization that they've taken over, they appear to me to be flaky and clueless and sometimes liberal and they tend to underperform in general elections. I'm not allowed to oppose them in the primaries because this is constitutes "purging"? That's kinda silly. Aren't they trying to "purge" normal conservatives by always running against them?

If you are talking about purging "blue collar workers" I have no such intention. Some people admire Bentivolio because he is a "regular guy", swell, good for them. I prefer not to risk the seat just to prove some point about how Congress needs more blue collar "regular joes". I dispute any notion that failing to renominate Bentivolio will lead to any kind of crisis with blue collar voters.

Want more blue collar candidates? Great. Find some that aren't weak candidates like that guy.

I really don’t care what Karl Rove wannabes think or say which is why I don’t waste my time reading their self righteous BS.

They said the same thing when he ran last time and there was absolutely no way he could win.

I feel silly for writing so long a post if that is your bullcrap rebuttal. No, I don’t want moderates. I dispute your claim that Trott is a moderate.

BTW your guy voted to raise the debt ceiling, so he’s not Mr. perfect 100% tea party himself.

Show me.

Feb 11, 2014 Press Release

Today, the House of Representatives passed a debt limit increase by a vote of 221-201. Congressman Bentivolio voted "no" and released the following statement:

"The congressional routine of raising our nation's debt limit time and again displays a flippant attitude towards our debt crisis. There is nothing 'clean' about a debt ceiling hike that will saddle future generations with the bill for Washington's decadent spending today."

C’mon, CC. You know Impy (nor I) are Tokyo Rove “wannabes.” These cheap shots are beneath you. We probably agree on better than 90-95% of the issues and candidates, we just have a different take on the Amashes and Bentivolios. I don’t have a particular axe to grind with Bentivolio (Amash is a different story), but my concern is his fundraising skills. The Dem running, Kumar, has already outraised Bentivolio by close to 50%. I’d be less concerned if it were the other way around.

It’s not a falsehood to say that had Bentivolio’s Democrat general election opponent last time had been Dave Curson instead of Syed Taj, Curson would’ve defeated him, as he did on the same day in the special election.

Show you? For god sakes man can’t you Google it yourself?

He voted against raising it in February 2014. He voted to suspend it in January 2013 as part of the GOP establishment’s (that you seem to hate so much) plan.

http://michiganindividualist.blogspot.com/2013/02/bentivolios-betrayal.html

He gives a decent sounding reason why he did it, but the tea party disagreed with his vote so you can’t pretend he’s spotless Mr. Tea is all I’m saying.

As I said my main beef with him is that I’m afraid he’ll lose to a rat one these days because doesn’t know how to raise money or do other things people need to do to hold on to competitive districts.

What you’re doing is playing word games. For the sake of others they should know that you were saying the same kind of BS back in 2012.

No, I’m not playing games. You are. You’re being very VERY obtuse.

Yes, I supported Nancy Cassis, the write in candidate that opposed your apparent hero in 2012 in the primary when all we knew about was that he was a random Paulbot. I wish she had won, it would have spared me this bull**** conversation.

I see you were saying the same shite back then too, whining about the establishment and lashing out at whoever DARED disagree with you.
