I’ve noticed the same thing. I watch old movies. The men all look like grown men, even the Jimmy Stewart types. None of them look like Leonardo Dicaprio pretty-boy types, even the “glamour” guys, like Cary Grant.

Yes, he was a sodomite, but no one who wasn’t an insider could have ever guessed it from watching him on the screen. Even the sodomites back then appeared more manly, and that’s saying something.

The one which comes to mind whom I had an inkling after seeng him on the screen, that he might be a sodomite, was William Haines. I don’t know why, but even before I knew it as a fact, I had an idea after watching him in a movie that he was swishy.
