“No application of logic can persuade her that Obamacare is not a catastrophe.”
Uh...so she thinks it *is* a catastrophe, or not? I think I know what you meant, but that’s not the way it reads.
Sorry. Typing on a tiny screen? Not enough coffee? Busy? Confused? Stupid? I’m trying to think of a good excuse for letting that slip by me. :-)
Anyway, the point I was trying to convey was that at the time, five years ago, I was working for an enormous ongoing research effort that came up with some numbers that just blew up Obamacare. We know each other socially and I brought this to her attention, but she absolutely wasn’t interested in hearing or seeing these data. In the first place, she was working for NPR at the time and they wouldn’t have wanted to hear that information. In the second she is just a happy-go-lucky liberal who operates on the basis of emotion, not logic. Not a smart woman in any practical sense. Some people just erect a wall against things they don’t want to hear.
