Bobby Jindal and David Vitter's Feud
New Republic ^ | July 8, 2013 | Marin Cogan

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal is renowned for his policy wonkery and strict Catholicism, not a cutting sense of humor. So when he took the stage a few months ago at Washington’s annual Gridiron dinner, one jab stood out in particular. “The Menendez scandal is disturbing,” Jindal said, referring to reports (later proved untrue) that Senator Robert Menendez had paid for sex in the Dominican Republic. “Soliciting prostitution is completely unacceptable. We would never put up with that in Louisiana.”

The butt of the joke was obvious to everyone in the room. Six years earlier, Louisiana’s junior senator, David Vitter, confessed to “a very serious sin” when his name appeared in the call records of a large D.C. prostitution ring. His political career survived, but not everyone has been as forgiving as Louisiana voters. Jindal’s joke acknowledged what has become an open secret in Louisiana Republican circles: He and Vitter loathe each other.

That’s wacko and petty.
He shouldn’t do that in public to the same party.

The entire article is interesting.

“So essentially Vitter has stepped up to fill that void. Because everyone hates Bobby, David hates Bobby, and presto: The enemy of my enemy is a friend.”

“When Jindal backed a $1.2 billion teaching hospital in New Orleans, Vitter wrote to the secretary of Housing and Urban Development to ask that they reject the state’s application for federal loan insurance and joined forces with the state treasurer and House speaker to come up with their own, cheaper proposal.”

I wasn’t aware that the Melendez scandal was “proven untrue”...

For all you non-Louisianian Freepers, just a heads up:
Jindal is a RINO. He’s done nothing for our state. We still pay the highest state income taxes in the south. He’s also a supporter of Common Core even though he will deny this in the best Clintonesque you’ve ever heard. He and Mary Landrieu are close friends when it comes time to support each other during elections. I wish Rush and Sean would get over this fake, phony fraud.

That’s what I thought. Jindal is promoted because he is a minority, makes jokes and from an immigrant background.

Vitter can crack jokes too.
“Don’t expect any state senators to raise their hands and declare themselves RINOs anytime soon. Politicians always tend to act cautiously, as though they are permanently endangered species. And with Vitter on a RINO hunt, they might be.”
