Republican Rep. Raul Labrador on Thursday offered a potential immigration deal to the White House, saying the GOP would agree to loosen penalties on illegal immigrants if President Obama would agree to increase visas for foreigners who work in high-tech fields.
Mr. Labrador suggested dropping the penalty period that bars illegal immigrants from reapplying to enter the U.S. legally after being deported, a period that now lasts for between three and 10 years, depending on how long they had first remained in the country illegally.

America will never dig itself out of the unemployment mess that the latest crop of moron politicians and self serving bureaucrats have made. To hell with them all.
and the left gets us to move towards them. the dialectic works again and we’re the willing chumps.
our side is idiotic at best and collaborators at worst.
I would love to see a moratorium on all legal immigration for 10 years, and the militarization of our Southern border.
So much for “the law of the land.” It seems whitey is the only one required to live by “the law of the land” these days. Everyone else gets a free pass.
The GOP is make up of ASSHOLES! They gotta go!
But wait... if someone already violated CURRENT immigration law, the people behind this proposal would need to give the law breakers some kind of forgiveness first before they could put the new rules in place. There’s a word for a new law that forgives law breakers... what’s that word? What’s that word. Darn it? It’s on the tip of my tongue...
“[Expletive] you! I know more about this than anyone else in the room,” shouted McCain at Cornyn.

“I think I know more than you do about immigration and immigration reform,” Labrador said. “So let’s not try to insult people.”

Raul Juan McCain.
If the laws are not being enforced now, it is insane to believe they would be no matter what promises are made about “comprehensive” immigration reform.
I’m not surprised the Democrats want more poor voters to use as pawns in their drive to make this a socialist country.
What is surprising is the Republicans are handing the Democrats the noose they’ll use to hang us with by supporting amnesty.
No one stands up for American workers.
Why is it that Democrats never, but never, act like fools in pursuit of their leftist, anti-American agendas, and never betray it, while Republicans evidently lie awake at night figuring out how to do just that.
Some stubborn facts about Raul Labrador

We need a guest worker program that actually works. Our system is broken, and this is where I work with the system all the time. I’m trying to get people to go through the legal immigration system. They have to pay me thousands of dollars just to bring somebody to the United States. That’s ridiculous. Now, I like it because I’m make a good living because of it, but they shouldn’t have to pay an attorney thousands of dollars to bring somebody legally to the United States.”
You idiots keep voting for these people.
Lindsay Grahamnesty is winning in SC.
If I was a liberal in 2014, I’d be pissing in everyone’s face too.
No one anywhere is stopping them.
“Republicans look to loosen penalties on illegal immigrants”
In California, the GOP has become just one more enemy of the average American.
GOP really sucks at negotiating.
“to increase visas for foreigners who work in high-tech fields”
Executives already making many hundreds of times the amount that their workers make ... desire to make *thousands* of times.
When executives take some really big pay cuts and also prove that there is a shortage of *American* high tech candidates (about which, it seems that only executives are complaining) ... and ...
When lawyers stop charging obscene amounts ...
Meanwhile, there are plenty of *Americans* who have the needed skills.
I remember when this Labrador fellow was popular with some.
