Your Phone’s ‘Tilt’ Sensor Allows People to Track You
The Blaze ^ | may 9, 2014 | Elizabeth Kreft

Never mind what you actually text or say on the phone — now even the way you tap, hold and move it can be tracked.

A U.S. research team revealed your smartphone and tablet’s “tilt” and “swipe” motion sensor data — which cannot be blocked — can be used to track your movements and even determine your passwords.

ROTFL . . .

People using their cell phones and tablets to share theories on just how they'll be forced to get an implanted chip with "666" in it while the goodies they can't live without and share theories over have already turned them into walking broadcast towers

How’s this for an idea:

Cell phones with an “off” switch that actually cuts off juice to the damn thing. Off means “off”.
Then a radio-wave-proof mylar bag to carry the thing to be on the safe side.

Even “off” many devices are still energized at some level;as said by another:if it is turned on or off by software detecting a button it can be turned on or off by software ,either hacked or with capabilities unknown to the end user.

Placingthe cellphone in a foil bag or metal canister with lid is one of the surest ways to be certain it isn’t still communicating your location. But it will acquire your new location onbringing it out.

Anonymity is truly rare.

It doesn’t matter. They track you from the tower pings unless the phone is off, and probably still then unless you can pull the battery.

Not my flip phones. They can track by towers but that is not really GPS and not terribly accurate and takes time and effort. Some newer SP’s do actually have the true GPS feature built in.

“You made that all up, didn’t you? Didn’t you?”

Well, it’s probably not a true story...today, at least.

According to them, no signal gets in or out of any device in the bag.

Most newer cellular phones have two batteries - the one that runs the bells and whistles - and another, unreachable without disassembling the unit, that is solely GPS.
So, even if you turn it off and remove the “battery” your unit is still transmitting your location.

I’ve been doing some heavy duty research on this for a new book.

Wrap your cell phone in tin foil when not in use.

Once again I’m glad I don’t have one of those “smartphones” .... I have a stupid “feature” phone. It makes phone calls and that’s it. No GPS, no text, no email, no web browsing. The only way to track me will be via the cellphone towers, which is still a pretty big area.

“Wrap your cell phone in tin foil when not in use.”

Double wrap with heavy duty foil and make sure there are no gaps.

Many people want phones with all the bells and whistles built in; those most definitely have GPS built in.
