She makes perfect sense if you understand that she is giving liberals talking points. Therefore, “Somebody said to me yesterday, either people have gotten tired of Benghazi or they never knew about it in the first place.” is actually, in practice: “Liberals, you can choose one of two positions: say either that you have gotten tired of Benghazi, or that you never knew about it in the first place.”

And the thing about millions and millions of liberals is that they will then do exactly that.
