The Chinese actually invaded Vietnam, briefly, in the late 1970’s, it was a stand off. They may still have the support of Russia.

Actually, the Chinese had their asses kicked and withdrew (retreated) within a month. The Chinese PLA has modernized considerably since 1979 however.

Yeah, I remember reading about it. But by then, the North Vietnamese military had a lot of battle experience. The Chinese took huge losses, and when it was over they said they taught the Vietnamese a lesson.

Russia might sit this one out though.

With our approval. China consulted with us for support in case the Ruskies decided to make a move.

Funny how Vietnam plays the victim card when in fact Vietnam is just as bad and maybe worse than China. Let’s see...??? Ever heard of Cambodia, Laos, and Champa? Vietnam has invaded and colonized her neighbors and still have troops stationed on foreign territory. Looks like the Vietnamese are getting a taste of their own medicine.
