They raised the rent on my PO box from $74 to $94. I gave it back to them.
I went to mail a package. There were a dozen forms with cute marketing names. I filled one out, stood in line, then found it was not the right one. So I went back and got another one. There was no way to determine what each of the forms would cost me and to find out I’d have to stand in line again to ask the question. I took my package to UPS. I was able to complete the transaction in about four minutes at a cost of $9. I was able to talk to somebody. She was polite and wanted my business. I’ve sent the last thing by USPS.
I’ve been seeing a substantial decrease in junk mail ,, especially junk mail from local businesses.
The post office is resorting to fraud to make money. I’m convinced that they do not have honest scales. When mailing an overseas package from an online sale, the clerk told me that the postage was insufficient. I had weighed the package on an accurate scale, but the PO scale had bumped up the weight to just over the next increment for a higher rate, about $3 more. I was disgusted, but what could I do?
I’ve kept a UPS store small box for years and to me, it has been worth it.
It you buy your postage there it is cheaper too.
E-mail tracking will let you know where your package is at all times.
Well, sort of. I am convinced that I have a package stuck in a sorting machine and I am even sure of where that machine is. Can't get them to take the machine apart and look though.
I send everything via USPS but you have to completely stay away from their post offices and do it all online. Online is simple.
Why can’t they open at 6:00 AM and have a split shift to 9:00 PM so that people with the few remaining jobs don’t have to take time off their work to mail a package. The mail is a service industry and as such should be CONVENIENT for the customer. The same for the DMV, tax office, zoning permits etc..
I’m sure there are plenty of people who would take the job from 2:00 to 9:00 on the split.
