In 2011, during an appearance before a conservative group at Furman University, Gowdy insisted that he is an unabashed supporter of the Tea Party movement but he rejected being called a Tea Party congressman.
My response to all of that is I am enthusiastically supportive of what the tea party has done, he said. If you want to see where I am, look at my voting record.
Man, do the Dems in S.C. District 4 despise Gowdy! You ought to hear what they say about him lately: The same sorts of things some so-called Republicans do on FR. Things like "he damn well better do a good job on Benghazi" (or else...what?) and "I've got secret information that will destroy Gowdy". (Said poster still won't share it with us all.)
This really is one topic and one conservative legislator that should be given the benefit of the doubts from ALL FReepers...until any of the lying insinuations that have been spread on FR about him in the past year or two are proven true.

Thanks for trying....but still confused..the article said he “ran for solicitor in SC’s 7th district”...that’s what I didn’t understand

Well, he’s got my full support. I see him as a man of integrity and determination. That’s why the Dems in S.C. and the Dems on FR trash him. They fear him.
