When did they change Weather into Severe and Extreme Weather ?
Hey! I thought only the British press reported threatening weather in the Midwest in the spring.
At least you have Kait Parker there for TWC. I’d watch her read the phone book.
Confirmed large tornado near SUTTON, NEB. Moving toward McCOOL JUNCTION. @SevereStudios
Very nice dirttrack racing at McCool Junction.
It happened when we became the Soviet Union. Our economic health is now solely dependent on the weather. And, unfortunately, all of our weather is now Severe and Extreme. It's a shame, but, [shrug] what can you do?
Appears to be heading my way.....
FYI - we had a Tornado WARNING a week or so ago, with no prior WATCH, and fortunately nothing came of it. But the NWS issues Warnings now when their doppler radar indicates that the conditions for tornado formation are favorable, not when a funnel is spotted by a trained observer as in the past. It’s good to err on the side of caution but the criteria are different now.
(Yes, it’s the same climate scientists...)
This is UNCANNY!
May 5 - just a few days ago - was the 50th anniversary of the F5 tornado that tore through this VERY SAME AREA in 1964:

I remember well going out with a church youth group and picking up debris after that tornado. All that was left of large grain bins and other structures could be easily held with one hand.
Sitting here 30 miles SW of Chicago in rural Will county watching the skies turn dark .... Lightning and rain right now.
Looks like it’s headed our way to omaha. My husband is busy watching reruns of fast n loud so have to listen for sirens.
So how’s the new airport coming?
Peotone will never be built.
I hope you’re right...what a political boondoggle!
Maybe they can use the land to build a new prison. And a high speed rail line to haul ‘em over from Springfield to fill it!
Not sure why we'd need one --- we have a perfectly unused Prison somewhere between Rockford and DeKalb that was built 10 years ago and never used.
We could always clear death row by actually carrying out the death penalty --- that'd make room.
The Jesse Jackson Junior International Airport of Peotone?
Looks like you are going to get what hit us earlier. We had high winds and some .75” hail. I may have some dings in my Jeep.
