Exodus 20:17

"You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife or his male servant or his female servant or his ox or his donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbor."

Francis, quit being a coveter! Quit enabling other coveters!

I've lived and traveled all over the world. A couple of decades being somewhere else. I've noticed a direct correlation between the levels of crime, corruption, deception, misery, and general dirtbaggery, and the religious fervor/dedication of populations and cultures.

By far the most pleasant, safe, and enjoyable places ended up being the ones where religion/church is considered dead. Or is it?

There are going to be whole lot of religious folks wondering why they are shut out of the World to Come, while their "unbelieving" neighbors are ushered in. Could it be that there are "unbelievers" who conduct their lives according to the Golden Rule - having an unnamed yet deep-seated knowledge and respect of God's laws - while certain religious folks continue to act unrighteously by nature and habit, convinced that they are off the hook?

The modern world enables covetousness so that its members may scoop from that pot of gold with seeming impunity. All those hands serve to validate the deception.
