Just in time for the hordes of visitors to wear themselves out climbing 555 feet up.

A friend and I ran up it in 1967 when we were briefly stationed in WDC while in the USMC. Ah, to be young! For many years now, you have to take an elevator up and down. The stair are still there. Interestingly, there is a rock from each state built into it that you can see on the inside.

3 years. It took 3 years to fix what is materially, a block of rock and a stairwell. The Wright Bros figured out how to fly in less time than it took the full force of this to repair a block of rock with a stairwell.

Am I the only person disgusted by that?

Oops.

The Wright Bros took less time to figure out how to fly in less time that it took the full force of this government to repair what is effectively a block of rick with a stairwell.

Wonder what shape the cap is in?
It was made of Aluminium which was a rare metal
130 years ago. Or so I remember.

Wasn’t the Pentagon built in ~18 months? The Empire State Building in 14 months?

Isn’t it amazing what one can do without modern unions?

3 years is not All that surprising 1st it takes a good deal of time to do a full survey of the structure then assess how to fix them ... The find people that can fix it.. The do rember .gov is involved, heck they may have even been coerced to do an invironmental study !

The Empire State Building was built in less than half the time than it took to do this.

And not one person in the media asks why. Right or left wing. Not one says “Explain this in detail” and holds anyone to account like a pit bull on a side of beef.

I don’t mean just this. I just posted on another thread where the antarctic ice is said to be past the point of no return. Except there are record levels of ice.

Why does at best, a right wing media guy mention it and drop it a day later. Why cannot ONE of these fools ever ride the story until they take a liar/fraud down?

Actually, the first two years were held up because of
the discovery of the rare Potomac Crack Lizard, whose
only known habitat was the Monument. Fortunately all
were humanely trapped and moved to high rises in San
Francisco, so the repair really didn’t take that long
at all...

Hope they cleaned the bathrooms at the concession stand at the foot of the monument - what a dump.

Was that until they realized that it existed in all the upper levels of government?

Several rare specimens were removed from Nanzi Pelousey’s
eye lids where they had apparently been living for years.

1) It’s not “a block of rock.”

2) It’s BIG.

Well then what is it made from? What is it architecturally? It’s a big tower of rock with a hole inside it. Take the cap off and it is a chimney.

And big? Yea its big. SO? THREE FREAKING YEARS???
