Chuck Hagel: Transgender Military Ban 'Continually Should Be Reviewed'

Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel said in an interview over the weekend that the ban on transgender service members in the military "should be reviewed."
The comment was prompted by a question from ABC News' Martha Raddatz on "This Week with George Stephanopoulos," who alluded to the findings of an independent commission in March led by former U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Joycelyn Elders. The commission found "no compelling medical reason" to maintain the ban.
"I do think it continually should be reviewed," said Hagel of the ban. "I'm open to those assessments, because, again, I go back to the bottom line, every qualified American who wants to serve our country should have an opportunity if they fit the qualifications and can do it."

I cant believe I have to even split hairs like this. But if I could ever be convinced that homosexuals are basically maladjusted people, and could serve somewhat normally, transsexuals are another animal.

If I had a gay relative, I suppose id interact with them politely at thanksgiving and get through it. But I wouldn’t let a transgender in my door. That’s too insane to interact with. And our sec of def thinks its ok.
We might as well not even have a military if they’re going to have transgender freaks on the front lines.... unless maybe they’re part of a distraction tactic to draw fire and make our enemies fall down laughing while we flank them. Obama has done a great job with our military....for our enemies...

I dunno. No one wants to ask the hard question is what would transgender individuals add to national security? Nothing and they would add just another headache as open homosexuals already are. The number of sex assaults have risen dramatically exactly in line with what was expected and same sex assaults are leading the way but we can’t talk about that. We can’t say anything or the politburo of political correctness will punish us.
