“Dude! Wheres my First Amendment?!”
There’s no first amendment issue here. The player is free to say what he wants. We have freedom of speech. But that doesn’t come with freedom from consequence as a result.
The NFL is a private organization and the Dolphins are a private partnership. They don’t have to guarantee free speech without consequence and no government entities have violated his rights. I’m pretty sure if I tweeted repeatedly that my company sucks, I’d be fired.
While I may not disagree with his sentiment - he exercised his right to say what he did - but now he’s living with the results. Just like Donald Sterling.
Sure, believe what you want but if roles/colors of skin/religion were changed up, even a 6th grade kid would know the Federal Govt would make it a civil right issue.
For all here on FR that love to impress everyone with their scholarly understanding of the Constitution, you are looking foolish.
The Constitution, just like ANY and ALL LAWS, is all about who enforces it. If the current power says 2 + 2 = 5, its 5, and all the impressive intellect to argue otherwise is a waste of time.
