Bill proposes licensing undocumented immigrants to practice medicine

Doctors must provide a Social Security number as part of the application process to practice medicine in California, a process that automatically denies undocumented immigrants from participating.

A bill by Sen. Ricardo Lara (D-Bell Gardens), which passed the state Senate on Thursday, could provide those immigrants an opportunity to practice not only medicine but other professions, as well, easing the licensing process for psychologists and pharmacists, other healthcare professionals, and for about two dozen other occupations including real estate agents and security guards.

Perfect solution. Just mandate that these new doctors are for the exclusive use of members of Congress, the Senate, the office of the President, their immediate families, and all the pages and assistants who work on Capitol Hill.

I thought this had to be done by the Feds. Dealing with illegal alien criminals is their gig. If Arpaio can’t arrest and deport the invaders, Cauliphonya sure as hell can’t license them to be doctors, lawyers, etc. This is BS. Somebody needs to go to jail.

Inherent in the concept of licensing is the core assuption that the person being licensed abides by the laws and practices they are being licensed for. If someone is unwilling to abide by our nations laws from the get-go, why should we assume they will abide by the standards set forth by their field? If they are living here undocumented they probably have some sort of fact ID. How do government agencies license someone with fake ID? If they are living a lie, how do we know if what they claim to be trained, educated, and certified in in their own country is even true?

I have no idea how many illegal aliens are physicians in other countries. I do know however that the reason why many physicians here legally from other countries have trouble getting state medical licenses is because they cannot pass the rigorous US licensing exams. I also know that we have a shortage of primary care doctors that is only getting worse…so what you will have is Americans forced onto Obamacare exchanges who will have to see “doctors” from other countries who don’t speak their language and who aren’t competent to take out a splinter.
