This should have been sooooo obvious.
I used to not understand when libertarians would ask why the US Government gave NASA a monopoly on US space exploration. Surely, I thought, space is so complex and important, the Federal Government MUST be involved.
Now, I see that with the Federal Government and NASA in charge, the USA is effectively out of the space-business.
Reminds of the Milton Friedman quote - put a Federal Agency in charge of the Saraha Desert, and before long, we’ll have a shortage of sand.

To elaborate, we should be relying on hardware from our own U.S.A. and nations proven to be more friendly.
The ISS has nothing to do with making Muslims feel good about themselves so no great loss to NASA.
