You would really sit on your hands when you could actually save the lives of children?

These children are not US citizens.

Obama would have to give CROSS BORDER AUTHORITY and he wouldn't even do that for OUR OWN CITIZENS, so...

What about the other 50,000 (just a rough figure) CHRISTIANS that the Muslims in various countries have, and are continuing to slaughter ?

Should we send the Special Forces into every one of those countries?

What about the Jewish people that are being slaughtered ? Some of them are also US Citizens.

Are we to interpret our laws on a case by case basis? Who deserves to live MORE ? How do we use limited men (Special Forces) in such a huge endeavor ?

The lives of those children are more important than the bleating of the leader of a third-world country or the bleatings of Libertarians.

Children are sold in to sexual slavery right here in the UNITED STATES.

When do we invade ?

Yes, Hillary’s refusal to list them as terrorists. That is very much protecting them. We sent hardcore muslins a crapload of weapons to fight Syria that vanished. Terrorists tend to redistribute that kind of wealth regularly.

About a year ago, the Nigerian Army went after Boko Haram.

After all, they’ve BRUTALLY MURDERED THOUSANDS OF CHRISTIANS DURING WORSHIP AT CHURCH in recent years.

Our State Department under the illustrious leadership of U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry sternly admonished the NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT for the action.

We don’t need to fight Nigeria’s militant Islamists for them, they are fully capable of bombing these animals back to their caves.

We just need to STOP STICKING UP FOR THE ISLAMIC TERRORISTS for once. Let the Nigerian Army do the job and we won’t have to.

But, ultimately, SoConPubbie is fully invested in his position, and discussion on the point is nothing but argument for the sake of argument. Nobody's position will be changed, and the use of US Special Forces doesn't hinge on the outcome of this thread.

Politeness should have led you to ping me if you were going to refer to me in this thread.

And yes, I am fully invested in my position as a Christian.

Can you prove to me, from the Bible, where I am wrong?

I will listen and if you can prove it to me, from the ultimate rule book, I will listen.

No and no.

we made the decision not to have children 56 years ago so they wouldn't have to live in the sewer this country is become.

i kicked religion out of my life when i was 8 in favor of hot rods and racing.

Religion is nothing but a mental crutch for weak minded people.

The primary mission of the Special Forces is to train local peoples to defend themselves against aggressors. In this case this would mean training Christian Nigerians to fight Boko Haram.

However, the US military also has Delta Force, who are more inclined to rescue operations, as well as other units who if allowed to do so would exterminate Boko Haram fighters like the cockroaches they are.

However, this means no kid gloves. No prisoners. If they see one, they kill them and all their buddies.

I just object to the notion that 200 young girls imperiled requires us, as Christians, to spring to their rescue.

Many much worse things than this are happening in the world all the time. Murder is worse than kidnapping, or even rape.

We watch people and entire communities murdered all the time and don't turn a hair. Why is this one uniquely necessary for us to launch our military?

Don't get me wrong, if we knew where they were and had some reasonable chance of rescuing them quietly, I'd have no objection.

But the chance that we have much at all in the way of good intelligence on Boko Harum is, I suspect, quite slight. Nigeria is a rather large place, much of it covered with jungle. Invading it to stomp around and take political poses is a really, really bad idea.

As President, what does Norm Lenhart do? I follow the constitution. Because every day in the world there is atrocity. If someone can show me where it allows for foreign intervention when this issue involves neither American people land or resource, then I launch. Not until.

As a person I would hire a merc team of ex seals and kill everyone in 5 miles of where I found them.

They love to send troops around the world while cutting their pay, benefits and taking away their tools.

For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.

Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace. So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple (Luke 14:28-33).

We cannot stop all evil in the world. Attempting to do so would have enormous costs, many of them presently hidden from us.

The Bible says a wise man does not bite off more than he can chew. We cannot force the whole world to abide by our sense of justice.

The Bible also speaks of tending to your own knitting before attempting to correct your neighbor. There are young girls in pretty much this exact situation in the US right now. Since this is a country of 300M, there are probably more than 250 of them altogether at any given time, though not gathered together in one place.

What immense effort are we making to rescue them from exploitation and degradation?

Mote and beam time.
