ESPN Denounced NFL as 'Unworthy of Contemporary Society' If Sam Was Undrafted
Newsbusters ^

While Tuesday's Washington Post covered ESPN's elaborate planning to broadcast "a kiss that rocked the sports world" -- after openly gay Michael Sam was drafted, and they don't mean the later cake-shoving kiss that seemed a little scarier given Sam's size -- the debate over the kiss submerged the flagrant liberal editorializing that ESPN aired a few minutes before the Rams selected Sam with the 249th pick.

ESPN reporter Chris Connelly (formerly with MTV) uncorked pre-emptive anger, that if Sam went undrafted, the verdict of "history" (read: liberals) "will be derisive laughter, aimed at a league thus deemed by many to be unworthy of its place in contemporary society." Connelly attacked "tired old" prejudice and praised Sam for "weeding out the hopelessly hidebound" teams of the NFL.

The ESPN crews seemed to get really, really aroused by Michael Sam’s face-sucking make-out session.

That’s all I need to know about ESPN. Bunch of creepy, degenerate perverts in charge over there. I wouldn’t let a single one of them near a child.

The activists pushing for a homosexual player are all happy right now, but, let’s see how camp goes. Suppose the Rams cut him before the season. It is not unusual for a last round drafted player to not make the team.

I think the Rams were either paid by the NFL to pick Sam, or possibly were spared some sanction they may have deserved if they'd agree to take him. Consequently, he won't be cut either under the same deal.

Of course this could just be conspiracy theory thinking on my part. That's the trouble with affirmative action hires. No one believes they'd have been hired for what they bring to the team.

______________________________

The NFL IS ‘Unworthy of Contemporary Society’. And has been for some time. And that fact has noting to do with Sam.

No way they can cut him. They would be crucified endlessly in the media. They’re stuck with him.

Are there really people out there who believe their life’s goal should be “to be worthy of contemporary society”?

Is it possible this whole thing was orchestrated?

There has been talk in recent years about what reactions we would see, if we saw openly gay players in major league sports.

And, we learned long after the fact, in the case of Branch Rickey and Jackie Robinson, that Rickey was looking for a Negro ballplayer to integrate major league baseball.

So, I’m thinking that, behind the scenes, the powers that be have been looking to find their first openly homosexual NFL player.

But we may not learn all of the details of how this came about, until years from now, when books are written, and movies made about this “historic” event.

Geeze, at least Jackie Robinson could play ball.

Can you imagine if Jackie Robinson shoved a cake in someone’s face and gave them a big wet kiss? These people have no sense of the “history” they talk about.

What history will remember is what a bunch of self-absorbed jackass these jerks were.

I used to be a sports nut but, thanks in part to this stuff but mostly to their sense of entitlement and arrogance, no longer. It’s even trickled down to college sports.
They can count on the members of their diverse audience to pay their bills.

“Good Morning America” correspondent Chris Connelly talked with horror novelist, turned religious fiction writer, Anne Rice on Thursday about how friends reacted to her becoming a “Jesus freak.” Though the interview was a friendly one, Connelly did ask, in a jovial tone, what it was like when friends said, “’Oh, my gosh. She’s out of her mind. Oh, no. Look, she’s become a ‘Jesus freak.’”

Given that Sam was the 249th pick, there probably weren’t many better players that were passed over in favor of him. I suspect he probably wouldn’t have been picked at all if he preferred the company of women.

You could be right.

Roger Goodell has a brother who’s gay.

I would gladly boycott ESPN, the NFL and the NBA... unfortunately I’ve already stopped watching them.
