ESPN Denounced NFL as 'Unworthy of Contemporary Society' If Sam Was Undrafted
Newsbusters ^

Posted on 05/13/2014 1:37:09 PM PDT by chessplayer

While Tuesday's Washington Post covered ESPN's elaborate planning to broadcast "a kiss that rocked the sports world" -- after openly gay Michael Sam was drafted, and they don't mean the later cake-shoving kiss that seemed a little scarier given Sam's size -- the debate over the kiss submerged the flagrant liberal editorializing that ESPN aired a few minutes before the Rams selected Sam with the 249th pick.

ESPN reporter Chris Connelly (formerly with MTV) uncorked pre-emptive anger, that if Sam went undrafted, the verdict of "history" (read: liberals) "will be derisive laughter, aimed at a league thus deemed by many to be unworthy of its place in contemporary society." Connelly attacked "tired old" prejudice and praised Sam for "weeding out the hopelessly hidebound" teams of the NFL.

In another age the fact he was drafted by the Rams would have been fodder for late night TV.

Of course it was orchestrated..same thing happened with Jason Collins..Ive watched the NBA playoffs and not ONCE have I seen Jason Collins play..I haven’t even seen him at all, probably sitting his ass on the bench..he averaged 2 points a game before he “came out” he only came out because he wanted to be drafted by a winning team..he has been a bench warmer his ENTIRE career, no one has ever wanted him, but when he comes out as gay all of a sudden teams want him, for publicity..to show they are “tolerant” same thing with Michael Sam, he came out so that he could be on a winning team, to get publicity for himself and his homo agenda

I can now see why I never watch ESPN. It’s the girlyman channel for “openly gay” homosexuals.

Agree with that one. If any team wanted a safe harbor to sign Sam and avoid the in your your face circus they could have easily picked him up as a free agent. Word came down on high from somewhere.

In the old days Rush could have told us the inside story of this all but now he can't. Not that he's afraid for himself but any revelation would immediately make his source a target of revenge from the homoroids. I'm sure he knows the story.

“I watch Golf Central. I know, it’s owned by NBC, but when I tune in, it’s about golf 90% of the time.”

Golf is about the only thing I watch on TV anymore. I imagine it won’t be long that the first openly gay hacker will come out of the closet and ruin that too.

Well when this mediocre player gets destroyed playing a real game against real men then what will they say?

Are they going to sue the player that takes him out?

Or will everyone be required totackle him nicely?

And if he gets AIDS are you going to let him play and bleed all over everyone?

If he is as mediocre as advertised, the other teams will throw in his direction every time he is on the field.

Take it a step further...

What if Sams gets a minor injury that keeps him out of training camp and the pre-season.

Will the homo-brigades still demand that:

a) He take up a roster spot

b) He play in the regular season in competitive games

Can they cut him without becoming the most hated team in the league by the MSM?

"Do you really think anyone can leave your post alone? "the queer script has Sam being named MVP this year". MVP in five, four, three, two........."

Sorta like Obama being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize before he had done anything, good or bad.

I had read rumors that the Rams were told they better sign Sam otherwise there would be hell to pay..he isn’t even talented, heck I probably have more football talent than he does, but he was chosen just because he is a fag and that is the ONLY reason

Oh, come on. There are legitimate questions of whether Sam can be effective at the next level, since he's a classic 'tweener (not quite big enough to play DE, not quite fast enough to play OLB)--hence the 7th-round pick--but the guy was the SEC defensive player of the year. Clearly a talented player, just one of those players whose talent may not translate to the next level.
