Al Gore is no stranger to ill-gotten money. It's OK for him and the people on his side, though.

If you're conservative and and not beholden to their cause (which is total leftist power), watch out because they will take your money and your freedom.

“The influence of money. The average member of the House and Senate has to spend five hours per day begging rich people for money. Begging rich interests for money!”

Al Gore supports term limits too. I'd have never believed it.

it’s a Constitutional Republic.

That's the short version.

It's a Representative Constitutional Republic.

you wouldn't have to beg rich people for money if you supported legislation that the majority of your constituents wanted.

Unions, Left-Leaning Groups Dominate List of Largest Political Donors

Twelve of the top 20 political donors from 1989 to 2014 have been unions, which overwhelmingly support Democratic causes, according to an analysis done by OpenSecrets.org’s Center for Responsive Politics.

Seven of the top 10 donors overall give almost exclusively to politicians or groups on the left.

The average member of the House and Senate has to spend five hours per day begging rich people for money. Begging rich interests for money!

And that's just Al Gore! They beg other rich people too!

When Gore ran for president in 2000, he beat George W. Bush by 543,895 popular votes, but the Supreme Court gave the presidency to Bush

The guy writes this as if it's true.

Gore did win the popular vote but the bit about the Supreme Court giving the presidency to Bush is pure nonsense. Pretty much the opposite is true. The Florida Supreme Court was trying to give the win to Algore but the U.S. Supreme Court prevented it on a 9-0 decision, basically a slap-down.

I think a question that should be asked of Gore everytime he spouts idiocy(I know every time he opens his mouth) is “ Hey Dilbert, why couldn’t you carry your home state in the election against Bush?”. If it doesn’t shut him up at least the color change in his face should be amusing.

but the Supreme Court gave the presidency to Bush by a 5-4 vote that some (including me) considered nakedly political.

Free speech is one thing but abject stupidity and inability to see the reality before them should disqualify them from "journalism".

There is so much incorrect in the above statement it's amazing.

What “democracy”?

The territory once known as “the United States of America” has NEVER had a “democracy” it has always been a representative republic, which chooses its representatives by ballot. Whether this is what may be called “democracy” is open to debate, as there are several different meanings for the word, and some of them are almost diametric opposites of each other.

Now, the process of selecting the names of whom shall be included on the ballot, is by itself, a highly un-democratic process, usually done for various interests by packed caucuses in a hot, crowded hall by self-selected factions that may or my not represent the majority interest of the community.

Or the mob standing out on a street corner, demanding submission to their demands, or they go on a rampage and cause enormous property damage, if the demands are not met in very short order.

In both of these scenarios, there is the spectre of compulsion and threats of violence, and yet, both are, somehow, “democracy”, and therefore sacred. And yet they are totally incompatible with each other.
