I wonder if anyone has ever run some numbers or done a study of the percentage of child stars who make it into adulthood in a somewhat normal state of mind. The very definition of "child star" might as well be accompanied an image of a spectacular train wreck. For every Ron Howard, there seem to be a dozen Corey Haims, Corey Feldmans, Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, Gary Coleman, Todd Bridges, Dana Plato, the carnage seems to go on and on - but there are still plenty of stage-moms and more than a few stage-dads out there willing to sacrifice their kids lives for a little fame-by-proxy.

You think Ron Howard is an example of a "somewhat normal state of mind?"
