3. Much cooler climate. (ridiculous heat/humidity in the south)

That must be why half the cars you see in Florida in January have Ontario or Quebec plates.

And have you ever seen what they call "bacon" up there?

My cardiologist recommends it!

4. Very few non-English speakers. OOPS! Wait! I forgot the frogspeakin’ Quebeqois!

I had a car accident in Quebec...well north of Montreal...a few months ago.I was slightly hurt..nobody else was.The cops called an ambulance that took me to a hospital.Long story short...the ambulance driver, who spoke some English...told me that the nurse told him that the doctor who would be seeing me didn't speak English.Knowing that,I left and got the minor treatment I needed in Vermont.

Most years we spend a couple of weeks in the Sarasota area (the East Coast is too crowded) and the Ontario plates are everywhere. Not nearly as many Quebec plates but there are some.I guess they like the winters up there....or maybe they like Lauderdale better.

As a Canadian I have some dispute with this article. The nation’s largest economy, Ontario, is in such bad shape that are considered eligible for inter-provincial welfare payments. The sun really shines on Alberta and Saskatchewan, where oil and gas, are making those economies outright Shangri-las. Our federal budget is bigger than it has ever been, and all under the directorship of a so called conservative party.

The bit on immigrants is downright deceptive. Canada’s problem is with so called refugees. We have been called a joke by immigration officials in Great Britain for our 50% acceptance rate (compared to 11% in the UK). Just about anyone can cry “abuse” and get into Canada. We let in 250,000 refugees each year.

As far as healthcare, it is ticking time bomb of a Ponzi scheme. Already rationing is getting progressively worse as government don’t have the money to improve the system.

Yes, that’s true. I personally have been victim of Canada’s predatory defamation laws. Calling someone an “idiot” can effectively get you sued.

As for the human rights commissions our own Supreme Court just said they are a reasonable limit on free speech.

Even liberals in America have a respect for free speech. Even the huffington post wrote articles condemning our free speech police.

Yes, and our RCMP chief just criminalized 11,000 gun owners by outlawing a Swiss rifle that has been legal for a long time. Not to mention the RCMP gun grab in High River.

We don’t really know the derivative exposure of our banks though do we?

As for the military it is still shamelessly underfunded. The CPC has over the last 2 budgets forsaken military funding for stupid social spending and useless attempts to bolster the economy.

Totally different lending system.

One thing that alarmed me when I met my wife from Denver in 2001, is that over 2 years of her mortgage, it had been sold to new lenders TWICE. We don't do that in Canada, and it alarmed me. What was happening we all know now is primary lenders were selling off their risk, sometimes bundling subprime into prime mortgages, and building up the risk the system was carrying - that all came crashing down.

To explain it to Americans this is how it works. Quebec has the most generous daycare programs in the country. The other provinces essentially underwrite Quebec’s prolific ways through transfer payments. So they keep their aged wine and caviar while the rest of us make do with cheap steak and beer.

If the Bruins win, it will be because your Canadians are better than our Canadians ;)

unfortunately the load is in your pants..most Canadians are happy with their health care..those going south go for elective surgery to avoid the waiting list...America protects itself, we enjoy collateral security by being next door and would be sacrificed in a second to safeguard U.S. soil.

I still say what I want, but yes, you can get in big trouble in a kangaroo court that you’re guilty til proven innocent in. Of course you’re never actually found innocent.

The healthcare here blows, as does gun laws. We’re also severely taxed to death.

The person writing this article is on glue or worse.

I’m Canadian and when I hear Canadians talk about the US being garbage it gets my hackles up, and vice versa a bit, though I don’t hear it in reverse very often. It’s usually some idiot liberal spouting off his mouth up here.

I just bough a pretty expensive house in Alberta and had to jump through a ton of hoops. It’s a pain lol.

My income says I can afford a 7 figure house, but just because you can doesn’t mean you should and I think that’s where a lot of people go wrong.

Without reading, I’m going to guess — gun control, restricting ‘hate speech’, and health care.

Now I’ll go see what the article says.

Nope, 0 for 3... but it was still leftist crap, increased regulations, and restrictions on free speech.
