A statement from one anonymous "official" is the basis for the article. The point of the article is that Boko Haram is not trained, funded or supplied by other Islamic groups primarily Libyan Muslims and AQ.
The article is nonsense. This terrorism in Nigeria is one more consequence of the so called Arab Spring and the American involvement in Libya.
Where are they getting arms? Hmmm, maybe...Benghazi? Or at least, they were...

Definitely bull crap. This is a front story to wash away any suspicious covert US to Boko Haram arms deals. We were told that one of the reasons the Nigerian armed forces did not respond when it had a 4 hour warning to the kidnapping, is that they were reluctant because Boko Haram has better equipment. How did they get that better equipment if they were just poor terrorists ?

I just wrote about where Boko Haram obtained its weapons from and that is in the wake of the Libyan Civil War.
