You have to learn to pick you fights with this one and a few others...they see anyone who doesn’t agree with their cold war mentality as favoring Russia...they simply cannot grasp the entire picture...so they resort to name calling and insults...like most liberals do when they cannot face the facts.

I’m trying to dispassionately look at this Ukrainian situation from afar, and wondering if it could happen here, say we have a couple states secede from the union due to an out of control federal government. And I wonder, would it lead to civil war, as it clearly has in Ukraine, and how military intervention in a secession twould be perceived, if it came to that. It would make the Bundy ranch situation pale in comparison, for sure. But some of these ra-ra-ra big government pro-war types think their opinions and posts somehow effects the situation on the ground in Ukraine. Bunch of keyboard warriors who can’t just contribute to a thread, without name calling and insulting. Their shit is getting old and tiresome.
By the way, we hosted a Russian foreign exchange student for a year, and their perspective on their own history is definitely different than ours, that’s for sure. I don’t think young Russians have ever come to grips with what the Soviet Union did to some people, quite frankly. They weren’t confronted with the Gulags, like the Germans were confronted with fascism and the concentration camps. Back to Ukraine, some of these people seem to be acting like they’re still fighting Nazis. That seems a little over the top.
