Jeb Bush gave an impassioned speech before New York's top political donors, casting immigration reform as a way to grow the economy, warning of a declining American Dream and pressing back on Common Core critics.

"We cannot go back and dumb down our standards," Bush said at a Manhattan Institute dinner at Cipriani, across from Grand Central Station.

If he wants to impress me, he needs to get a job that's not in politics.

I sure won't vote for him.

“An animated Jeb Bush”
Yeah, I’d like him better as a cartoon.

“We cannot go back and dumb down our standards,” Bush said at a Manhattan Institute dinner <<<

NOPE!..But Jeb gets that the only way to dumb us down in one easy swoop is with amnesty!...

Ill give him credit for that..but NEVER my vote!

I guess Jeb doesn’t know the teachers all across NY State, not the least of which is Long Island, and up in arms about CC. For the NYS teachers to do a 180 is significant.

But then again Jeb himself is dumber than a box of rocks.

Oh yeah, another Bush monkeying around with education standards is just what we need. Let's see.

During his administration, GHWB worked with the young governor from Arkansas and developed education standards designed to accomplish lofty goals by the year 2000, goals to put US near the top in international rankings of educational achievement. That was called "Goals 2000", developed under GHWB and signed into law by Slick Willie.

And then W came along and got with Ted Kennedy and gave us another set of national educational standards, or goals, called "No Child Left Behind."

So why the heck do we have to now listen to a third Bush yammering about another national educational standards scheme called "Common Core"?

Will it ever be concluded that these know-it-alls don't know much of anything about education? The third grand scheme in about 25 years, and educational standards continue to deteriorate.

They had a cartoon character of Jeb Bush speak to them? Toon town. Clintoon here we come. The opponent of choice by the media. While hitlery says not everyone should have guns just cause they want them-—for protection or whatever, citing minor incidents as major example of why they shouldn’t have them. Leftist fascist, hitlery. The Beast of Bergen Belsen, let’s rename her Ilsa.

Jeb should do like Hillary did. Move to NY and run for senator as a democrat.
New Yorkers seem to like him.

Yep, the Bushes are actually of Connecticut, anyway, and all went to school "back east".
