To: C. Edmund Wright

You can pretty much be guaranteed that anyone who says he’s in any profession “to help people” is helping one person in particular - himself. And not in a corrupt way, but he’s in it to make HIMSELF feel “righteous” for caring.

Here’s how I see it: in every private sector enterprise, you only survive by giving customers and vendors and co workers what they want and need…in other words helping them. In our PC society, that’s called being greedy however.

Those who run non profits or bureaucracies in social service for a salary get credit for helping, when in fact those are now relatively high pay low risk fields. Teaching is a gravy gig. And yet, there is a collective “worship” of those who do these jobs. It’s nauseating.
